Like the title has suggested, I'm planning a character with beast mastery(11)-expertise(10)-healing prayer(10)....

I'm not sure if all skills from healing prayer can be applied to pets, even so I still have a little problem, what weapon to use, since I won't associate with marksmanship and traps then I can't use bows for sure ... I wanted to use sword but I'm not sure I can use one without mastery or skills to support it.., any suggestion?

If you plan on allowing your pet to be your damage dealer than carry a Long Bow for pulling, if that is needed. Otherwise carry a +15 energy staff to boost your energy pool. My Beast Master uses a bow for delivering poison and that is it. But, good luck with your build because using a pet as a damage dealer is a skill bar hog.

I wouldn't bother with the Healing, The skill 'Predators Pounce' deals an amazing amount of damage for the 5 energy cost and 5 recharge, AND it heals your pet for around 50. If that isnt enough use Comfort for a quick boost. If youre in a PUG with any form of monk at all i just go 16 BM and 13 Exp.

Sorry but have to show my pride and joy

Like I said on the last thread I posted that image on, the build above has some major flaws, which I've sorted out since taking this

Firstly, I recommend that you max out beastmastery if you're going to be playing a beastmaster. You can afford to have 2 superior runes since you likely won't be getting hit at all. So you can have a tamer's mask with superior BM and put a superior Expertise on another piece of armor. When I BM i max out BM and put expertise at 13 which allows me to have wilderness survival at 9 with a minor rune for a +7 trolls. You can even bring expertise as low as 10 if you have ferocious strike since it will net you back 10 energy if it hits, which allows you to put up to 10 levels in an attribute from your secondary with 14 points left over to put in whatever.

Now with your BM maxed your pet should have plenty of life and your comfort animal should be doing like 110 hp per use, and with no recharge time on it, you really don't need another healing skill for your pet. This will allow you to concentrate on dealing damage. A lot of people use smite skills along with beastmastery for some extra dmg. From this line some good skills to use are Balthazar's Aura, Holy Wrath, Retribution, and Symbol of wrath.

Now for weaponchoice. If you're going to be going Beastmaster there really isn't anything better than a green staff with +15 energy. With full druids this will put your energy pool at 47 and with my setup I never run out of energy especially with Ferocious Strike.

I hope this helped you and have fun playing as a beastmaster.

Thanks, I get some idea now ...I think I will try out the BM master with staff and damaging spell and see if I like the style.

I got another configuration, this time after your suggestion I had dropped the idea of using Monk spell to heal, but rather use what the BM offers to heal both master and his pet, and swith my sub from Monk to Wariior, to help ditch the damage a bit faster in a non mage manner. Anyway I came up with BM(12)-Expertise(10)-Swordmanship(8) ...and skills as followed:

Charm Animal (need to summon pet)
Comfort Animal <-------> Predator's Pounce (for pet's healing)
Ferocious Strike (for boosting engergy recharge)
Predator Season (use togather with Tiger Fury for master's healing)
Tiger Fury
Call for Haste
Galrath Slash (adrinaline based attacking skills)
Escape (for escape) <-------> Lightning Reflexes (use once when drawing a mob)

...I figured this setting should be good enough for mindless slash and hack, eventhough it might not work as good as BM+spell attack, but at least I would enjoy my ranger weilding a sword rather than a staff, a weapon which I'm not very found of ..

well the idea is to have your pet do all the damage, with a sword you are pretty much useless! At 8 sword its a waste of a skill slot.

For healing ur pet use symbiotic bond +3 health regen for 220 secs or so(?) i could be wrong.at 16 bm

Like sparhawk and Haggard said if you run a pet run the attribute at 14 or higher to be most effective, usually 15 or 16 is ideal.

WIth a pet you will basically be backline, so any type of healing for yourself is not really needed and a Energy staff for a B/M is far more superior than running a sword for neglibe damage IMHO.

When running a B/M i run this:

16 B/M
12 exp
the rest in marks or wilderness depends on what im trying to accomplish with my team

1.ferouics strike
2.brutal strike
3.bestial pounce
4.symbiotic bond
5.charm animal
6.troll ungent
7.fertile season
8.rez or disruting lunge or melandrus assault

Insane damage and very funny !!! Wooot wooooot

anyway goodluck.
