I see builds all the time for all sorts of solo UW things, but they all have elites. so i brought a mod of my Wurm build down there and tried it out. im assuming it takes about as long as the IW mesmer build, although i never really got too far with the IW one.
I got past the first 2 groups of smites, but then got mobbed by a group of 6 and couldnt quite keep up with the dps.

this build is great for ettin farming too. it does 100 damage to target every ~3 seconds, almost ignoring healing signet. just replace deathly chill (for the nightmares) with offering of blood. great against low numbrs, beause energy really isnt a problem. owns wurms.
