Team-Finder Interest Check
Derek Ravenclaw
We all know that there is a serious problem with Guild Wars, the inability to find a team to join quickly and easily and accordingly the inability to find members to fill that last slot on your team. Imagine if there was an account you could PM, and you would instantly receive back a list of people looking for members for their groups (subdivided into HA, GvG, and possibly PvE). Or, you could PM this same account and have your name stuck on the list, saying that you're looking for a member or two for your team.
Would you ever use this? Do you think it would work well? What features would you like to see, specifically? And most importantly, what are the problems you foresee with this?
P.S. Don't mind wondering how it can be done, just imagine it can.

Sounds like a good idea, keeps local chat spam-free too.

The only problem I see, so far, is that there will be too many people using it, so finding a team may be difficult. Maybe it'd just have to be split into different categories based on which build the team is running, too.

I say no. This is vaguely reminiscent of the world-wide "LFG" windows other games employ. From experience, I have found most of these to be trash.
It's also just too much trouble when a good ol' "Boon Monk LFG" is faster and the results are more visible.

eh, if anybody needs any help with anything, I'll W/* everywhere.
Add me to that list if you ever find a way to make such a thing, I'm bored 24/7

Already have that feature. It's called guild chat. Also, there are always the henchies standing there just waiting to be asked to join a group.
Don Zardeone
Yeah but henchies don't have mending!
how would this "feature" work anyway?

yeah, a pretty good idea, possible implement in PvE mission areas, as finding a grp is often hard there. For monks, its easy, everybody wants you, but as a more underused proffesion, it would be nice to perhaps have a window in areas that has the names of ppl looking for groups.

I think it would work better as a 3rd party app rather than a PM ingame, but the idea in itself is very much needed, and the fact that Anet hasn't done anything about it warrants for it even more.

I would like to see an extra window added to the game. One that lists all the towns in the game, sorted by missions, capitals, and outposts. After each town it would tell you the number of groups formed in the town, and how full they are. This would make it easier to see which missions have people trying to do them so you can go there and find a party instead of mapping to each place one by one and checking to see if there is a party forming. Example:
Ring of Fire:
4/8
6/8
Thirsty River:
2/6
3/6
5/6
5/6
Just an idea though...

I disagree, the way it is is fine, it doesn't bother me one bit. If you have trouble finding a group, grab those trusty henchies standing among themselves, that's what I do. They work just as well, if not better, than real people, trust me, I tried THK with real people, about 12 times, and beat it my first shot with henchies.
HENCHIES FTW!

I do so hope that the mending remark was sarcasm
