Favorable winds, all the bow attacks you can fit.
Let dopple cast spirit while you run up to it. He'll use melee attacks if you go close, letting you fire off bow attacks and slaughter him.

Another approach:
Bring Apply Poison, Troll Unguent, Distracting Shot, and fill all other slots with spirits.
Use Apply poison just before stepping on the last seal. Run up to melee range and start plinking him with arrows. He should waste quite alot of time laying down spirits. Interrupt his Troll Unguent with Distracting Shot and you win.

Not sure if you want to call this an exploit or not but the Doppleganger does not use a pet. I put in all BM skills, nothing else. Went in and pet took him out in about 45 seconds.
A little too easy, but if you're stuck, it might be an option.

Ninja OniX
well the easy way i did it is carry moslty bow skills and Troll Urguent. Walking close to the Dogglabler(w/e his name was) will make him change his weapon to an axe, but he has no skills to use since all your skills are mostly bow skills so he just normally hits, so heal and shoot him down??? I'm not sure if this still works, but thats how i did it

just carry 6 spirits he will make all of them which means he wont even attack you!!! thats just easy fighting~!!!! attack him while he makes the spirits imagine trying to make 6 spirits how long would 6spirits making take!!! thats the sure way

I ascended my ranger a few days ago at level 19, was a R/E.
I brought the 4 spirits I had, my pet(Level 15 Hearty), and a heal for my pet. Put all my points into Marksmanship first(12+1+2, 14>50 10/8 max sundering flatbow) and Beast Mastery second.
Ran up to melee range, and my pet and I slowly killed him while he wasted time casting spirits. It took roughly 29 seconds if I remember correctly.
So my advice to you:
Max out marksmanship and beast mastery, bring your pet and every single spirit you can fit on your skill bar. Proceed to kill him while he casts the spirits.

Hmm, maybe try something like this?
Favorable Winds
Winnow (if you have it)
Spirit
Spirit
Spirit
Apply Poison
Dual Shot
Charm Animal (Pet)
If you have both Favorable Winds and Winnow, line them up as your first and second skills...it should make your arrows do an extra ~12-18 damage or so.
Have Apply Poison up before you enter and just shoot away at him, cycling in Dual Shot when it's charged (found out something rather interesting about it a long time ago- it gains the bonus damage from buffs, but doesn't reduce it to 50%, just the arrow base dmg).
Anyway, good luck.
*EDIT*: The reason that Favorable and Winnow are your first two skills is that Doppleganger seems to cast in the order of what is on his skill bar...it apparently worked for my friend to bring an attack combo and just line the skills up differently on the bar, effectively ruining the combo's effectiveness for the Doppleganger, but my friend could still use it to it's full effect... Just something to keep in mind there.

Dougal Kronik
Easiest way is to equip Iron Mist and let the dopple cast that on you then use any attack skills you want - do not take Troll Unguent or any kind of healling.
