what is the point in making a pvp only character?

I mean, you can use your pve character for pvping as well, so whats the point of limiting your character to pvp? other than the fact that it starts at lvl 20 and has access to pvp items...

Well some people do not like the grind involved in PvE and want to jump right into the competitive side of the game. It takes out the factors you had in games like Diablo where you pretty much had to be max level to stand a chance in duels.

there reason for using a pvp char would be so u can use max upgrades or max runes(sup vig, sup absorb) without having to buy them with your pve char, saves u time and money, not to mention the amount of money saved on not having to pay 1k per skill at ember light camp. Instead just unlock with faction.
Also your not just limited to ur pve chars to pvp u can unlock skills for the classes you dont have and play as thos.

The main reason why is because you can get the relevant armour, skills, superiors and weapons for the build you are playing without having to keep buying them all the time.

Also, you can play ANYTHING...let's see..you got 1 account

Let's say: 1 warrior, 1 monk, 1 necro, 1 elementalist

Now..people ask you to play a R/me spiker...well? can you?

You can, if you had a pvp slot, and the skill unlocked.

Essentialy, you don't have to buy all the things for your PvE to make it the equivilent or better of a PvP. Not to mention you're limited to 4 total slots at the moment, with 6 different profession, making PvP charactars very useful in playing things you don't have a PvE for, or a PvE built for.

There's no question that a well built PvE has an advantage, as you can carry more items, switch armor, in the case of warriors and rangers +% damage modifiers that aren't available on PvPs, in the case of casters + energy wands, and other items that aren't available on a PvP, all of this gives you an advantage if you use it properly. There are other reasons, but that should be enough.

1 word: Convenience...

What would be easier, playing all PvE guys for Gawdawful hours and having to WORK to get what you need each time?

Or having just ONE PvP guy to feed on all the accomplishments of your pve characters? [I'm for the latter for obvious reasons]

when Factions comes out, there'll be 6 slots, check this out:

W/N [cursed executioner, my super favorite class]
A/N [pure assassin, yay for stat-less plague touch]
R/E [Fire buff stacker, more buffs than anyone else in game per attack]
N/Mes [new style summoner, originally n/ele ice type but need mes in pve]
Rit/Mo [not sure what to do with him yet, he's a blend so flexible, etc.]
Mes/Nec (PvP current class, can use any skill unlocked in game ^_^)

As you can see, I love necro, hate eles and monks, so I'll take them solely as 2nd classes.

With this setup, I can easily do anything I want in either PvP or PvE, since I detest pure casting, this works well for me.

Thats reason enough isnt it ? Making a PvE character viable for PvP is a long and expensive process (compared to just making a PvP character). Frankly, I dont understand why you'd use a PvE character for PvP unless it had better or equal gear.

I'm not sure I understand you. The slot occupied by the Me/N is a PvP slot right ? You're making it sound like that is also an RP character. You will be able to make a primary ele or monk with your setup ?
