Hey, I was henchying thirsty river yesterday, when the exact same thing happened. Luckily, i was using a necro so i could just kill him with my spells. However, had i not had ranged spells, i wouldn't have been able to complete the mission, as he was a part of one of the groups i had to kill, and only when ALL the enemies were dead would it let me finish the mission.

Same thing happened to me charr hunting once.They disapeard under the ground or something but could still attack me but I couldnt attack them so I just left.
