Suggestion to A.net, inspired by (*gasp*) one of them other games.
SisterMercy
Alright, I admit it, Sister Mercy's been unfaithful. The wait for Factions was getting to be too long, we never had favor when she wanted to grind for skill points, and her 3 non-PvP characters have completed everything down to The Titan Source and then some. So she wandered. *gasp* To City of Villains, to be precise.
And OMG, does it ever remind me of all the things I appreciate in GW: map travel (!), stable servers (there's lag on GW, but nothing like CoV), sensible up-down mouse motion, beautiful graphics and better-detailed figures, varied mission types, less grind, more skills, map travel (!), less obtrusive UI....
But, you know, there's this one thing... and I'm going to miss it terribly when I get back to GW: a pet / henchmen control menu.
I've been wishing for minions to be able to join the party menu for the sake of casting versatility for awhile. Trying to target them with the mouse for Death Nova, heals and the like gets frustrating, and with the Flesh Golem coming, I want to try this feller in PvP. So just for selection options, it'd be worthwhile.
But then, there's the controls: Attack, Follow, Heel.
Methinks that an implementation of such a thing for minions, pets and the henchies could be a wonderful Xmas present....

Pretty sure there has been a petition about controlling henchies/pets with commands.
Gmr Leon
I agree as long as there is a command that makes them dance.

Just think how much easier tough situations would be if you could put the henchmen into "pull mode." You know how it works right now when you hit an enemy with a ranged attack. Good ol' Thom and Stefan rush in in aggro'ing everything in sight.
So I think there should be an offensive mode, in which the henchmen walk in front of you, sure to take the aggro. Then there should be a defensive mode, or "pull mode," which would tell them to stay put allowing you to pull with no issues attached. And then line formation, box formation, staggered formation, er... I'm getting ahead of myself.
But seriously, "offensive mode" and "defensive mode" would make partying with henchmen 110% less painful.

Quite a lot of people don't seem to know about that, and ANet really should let it be known.

Yes I want the controls...but I regretfully inform you that A.net has no other games released at this time...Thus those mushrooms on your pizza were the hallucinogenic kind.

Henchmen controls are probable in Chapter3. Or sometimes as an update between Chapter2 and 3. I'm 90% sure I've heard Gaile confirm they were going to be implemented.
Gaile has recently confirmed pet improvements are coming as well. To what extent they are, we don't know.

Henchmen controls - yes
Pet controls - yes, if limited to less than henchs
Minion control - No, the minions are mean't to be dumb

For any kind of control that will allow me to pull when I'm with henchies or my pet.

If only the archer hench would lure for me. Monks are terrible pullers and lurers.

Don't mean to spoil it for you guys but it sure doesn't look like this is happening. I mean think about the FPE- you saw any hench/pet improvement? No. They seem to have gotten worse for all I know... (cept for the interrupt ranger which everyone seems to be in love with). Controlling minions/pets/henchies would just be too good to be true.

Hell, even NWN had henchmen/NPC controls on a radial menu.

Hella Good, the preview event was just that, a PREVIEW. Nothing's final untill final release and then again, still not really final with all the constant updates.
Did things change between beta weekends and release? yes. That's essentially what the fpe was, a beta weekend. I have no doubt that many things will change for the better and possibly the worse as release comes nearer and passes.

I'm suprised ANet hav'nt introduced this system, games like UT had 'hench' control, thaugh they were'nt exactly henchmen. And UT was released in 1999 (I believe) ! Also, more recent games like CS:S have VERY good AI for bots, so again, I am suprised ANet hav'nt introduced this feature.

I'd even settle for a stay toggle so you could leave them be and pull.
Although if there is more than one person - henchmen are pretty easy to control and can be made to not attack if one person pulls.
