Well, from the sounds of it, this farming actually may have gotten buffed. Here's the section on runes in the last update:

my current build is................. 16 swordsmanship (12+4) 11 fire magic 9 tactics (6+3) (these are hard attributes if your having problems work tactics up and lower the other 2, it is not a easy build, it takes practice) frenzy sever artery gash galrath slash victory is mine {elite} heal sigit conjure flame sprint equipment = any sheild which works for you (btw its gonna have to be a req of 9 or less tactics) sword fiery dragon sword of shelter 15-22 (req 9) +15% (while enchanted) + 7 armor (vs psyhical) +20% dmg (customized)

I think they nerfed ettins for me at least, i did 3 runs and I didn't even see a white pauldron drop...... Lots of hardened humps though

I love this build! Never tried farming ettins actually just picked it up and it works great!
Anyway, on to the issue of 3 ettins attacking you at the same time?Heres my way of doing it. Run up against the rock cliff and get into a corner, only 2 ettins can attack you at a time. Take down those 2 and then deal with 1. Very easy. Gready job on the video again    /edit: i checked out ur myspace, go FF!! /x2 edit: i stick with a 15^50 coustomized 20% IDS and use conjure frost, works great for me, rust too.

glad ya liked it, if you practice it alot you'll soon be able to own 3 ettins in the open no prob, 4 ettins is seriously scary but possible aswell , but yeah takes pratice, lol checking out my myspace :P , yeah FF looks awsome!

I've started using an axe instead of sword (I know, I hate them too :angry
and the criticals really make a difference. I hit for over 113 while they are using healing sig+ the damage from conjure. And I'm using conjure lightning instead of fire, cause I don't have fiery axe haft. I do have a fiery hilt though :P16 axe 10 element of conjure your using. 8+1 Tactics Rest in strength +1 Frenzy Dismember Axe Rake/ Twist whatever you prefer. Just for the condition. Watch Yourself (because extra attack skill not needed.) ViM Conjure _____ Heal Sig Sprint

WOW this build rocks!, i get about 2 gold ettin puoldrens a run, i got 3 last time, i can do this all day soo much fun, last time i manage to take on 4! was soo close, i thought well i can run or i can fight so i stood my ground manage to kill the 3 then i had 1 hp:S,but i attacked him he went straight into heal sig and i manage to kill him!, thnx alot dudes! this is an amazing build!

Hehe, I've been trying to make a hammer build but It doesn't have the fast attack speed to hit twice while they're under heal sig... And the lack of conditions means no ViM... So I had been trying out defy pain, but I haven't tryed Dolyaks with that build yet... I'll post if I figure one out

Ok lo ljust noticed something
This build can be Done without VIm, and i mean no heal in the fights, as you can see i have doylak sigit , that was a accident, seeing as i had 2 strength i didn't use it lol, so realy i did the build without a heal LOL!! In this pic i did NOT use doylak sigit or heal sigit LOl ok bit risky  IN this pic I did not use heal sigit and tried doylak... like it helped with 2 stregth lol! I killed one more group of 3 then a pair of ettin then 1 by itself and i died on the next group of 3, but think about it, with this you see it is possible without heal, must try this with hundred blades insted of galrath slash and mabye watch yourself insted of Vim Gigamaster89
I wouldn't use Doolyak unless you have Healing Sig or something considering even if you do survive with it, you would still have to waste time and wait for your hp to regen.

i didn't use it untill the second group i faced, it was at 2 strength so it was like +10 armor lol!, i accidently put it on there so i thought meh mayaswell mess with it, it acauly helps because the first attack on you is the most dangerous frenzy + 3 irristable blows on you = 150 dmg , but with doylak + frenzy = 75
im thinking a new build 16 sword (+4) 9 tactics (+3) 11 fire magc frenzy galrath slash hundred blades watchyourself to the limit heal sigit conjure flame sprint can someone try this build, it should work out if ya got the skills lol, it shoiuld also competley rape ettins, and remember HUNDRED BLADE ON THE HEAL SIGIT! IM ONLY ON RING OF FIRE LOL so i got to kinda work my way to hells >_< untill i get hundred Blades

I tried out the original build, and it works fantastically. It takes a while to get used to using Frenzy at the right time, but after that it's cake.

I tried out the Hundred Blades build and it works great. Not sure if it is much faster than the other build but it does work. Sometimes on groups of 3, I'm forced to use Healing Signet while the last Ettin is using his. I don't have ideal equipment for the build and I only had 16,10,8 for Attributes. Hundred Blades during a Healing Sig was doing about 40, 40, 20, 20 dmg.

Did it with a friend of mine for him about 4 days ago. He's only up to the Southern shiverpeak missions.

I was able to kill 3 ettins in 8-16 seconds, much before I needed to self heal, thanks to rust. Not only do you get 6s of -40al goodness, but that's time where ettinsa are not pounding on you. With Factions out, I might go ahead and try this with Tripple Chop+Cyclone Axe. Gigamaster89
Wow, I feel stupid now.
I've been doing the run all wrong (I can still do it, but less effectively) because I DID NOT know I had to severe AND gash them before VIM because I didn't know Gash does DW which is a condition. T.T
