First, which is better: a 55 necromancer or a 55 monk?
Second, if you were to choose to make a 55 monk, what would be a good second profession?

55 Monks are generally more effective, simply because they gain longer lasting/more damaging spells with the rune bonuses.
And Mo/W is generally best for farming Trolls in Talus Chute and UW Smite runs, simply for the skill Bonetti's Defense which prevents you from being spiked to death from large amounts of monsters.
