Yes, it is an alternate entrance to the UW ... same as the one from ToA, takes you to the same spot.
Q&A would be better forum for this though, next time

Pretty sure you've always been able to enter UW from there.
Now, if there were multiple spawn points...that would be cool

Anyone know where the 50 and 100 gold charge take you to..?

You get bonuses if you pay for those.

Didn't they elaborate on this in another thread? I think they reached the conclusion that when e.g. Europe has favor, 3 or 4 Americans can join up with 5 or 4 Europeans in int. district, go to this statue and enter the UW together. Kind of cool.

GuildWiki: Objects Of Interest [edit] Grenth's Statue Grenth Statue and Map Enlarge Grenth Statue and Map Lornar's Pass is host to a Statue of Grenth that allows access to the Underworld. This is the only known way to access a Realm of a God from outside the Temple of the Ages. A group with five players in the American territory and 3 in the Europe territory were able to access the Underworld when America had the favor (starting from an International District in Camp Rankor); thus, it's guessed that the "party's territory" is based on the majority of the players from a certain territory. An alternative theory is that only the group leader's territory requires favor. All the restrictions for entering the Underworld apply (see the Underworld article itself), however, you can get a morale boost before heading into the UW, which is not possible from the Temple of the Ages. |
Lets Get to Healing
Uh oh. Expect to see a drop in ecto prices, as many people will head out of this zone now, and you can mix Europe and America.

Umm u still need favor this has been around for ever..

I believe that you need favor for Grenth himself to appear.

theres also one to the FoW in Magumma, in Balthazars temple which is south of Venataris refuge to the southwest of Deep Root who is on the end of Blood and SMoke quest. Don't know if u can get to FoW, but the champion of balthazar appears if we have favor, forgot to talk to him but somoen could check it out and see if it works. the temple of grenth looks pretty much the same as the temple of Balthazar so i think it will work.
mint
I'm pretty sure it was confirmed that the "alternate" FoW entrance doesn't work
guffey
ok, i didnt know, just seen it.

I've read on here sometime that if your in ID and you don't have favour you can use this statue to enter UW. You're party must be 50%+ from the region that has favour though.
Witchblade
Weird.. an alternate UW entrance.. but none for FoW oO
jackie
Me and my friends went UW from there when America had favour and there was 6 players from US & 2 from EU.
You have choice to get nice morale boost if you go from there

I've always wondered if that temple in Maguuma Jungle near The Falls has access to FoW. I think it's Balthazar's temple in that south-west corner of Tyria.
I haven't tryied that yet but if someone has experience?

^I can tell you from first-hand experience that, as mint pointed out a few posts above, that temple does not provide access to the FoW. Only the usual blessings.

Former Ruling
Its true you can mix american and euro players in the party and get the game to "think" your in the territory of the majority of your party (assuming it still works, someone grab 2 euro friends when euro has favor and go there).
But I wonder how this could work with 2 man groups (which is seriously mostly all that ever goes to the UW nowadays). would they take the territory of the party leader?

Ok, back to the 50g and 100g issue, the 50g is for a 2% morale boost (I believe) and the 100g is for a +3 health regen "blessing". Hope it helps
Dracus Steelbow
hmmm, just a thought but Look at the statues themselfs. Grenth is the god of death so he is in the mountains(cold and unforgiving) Melandru is the god of Earth so she is in Kryta. USing that logic, wouldn't it make more sense for there to be a statue of Balthazar in the Fire Islands?
jaymat
theres a temple of blathazar in majestys rest where u can enter fow from

Just for good measure:
Balthazar's statue in Majesty's Rest does not provide entrance to the FoW.
Viruzzz
it works exactly like the statue in ToA. exactly.
and about the X ammount fo people being form the region who has favor, has nothing to do with the ammount of party members.
or, in a way it has, but only indirectly, the explorable areas(anything that is not a town or outpost) are also sharded, so you will play on the shard that fits the majority of the party best, so thats where the 50% come into play. i believe in case of a 50/50 party it will allways select America, atleast it did in the PvP tournament, the euro teams were getting a lot of lag, whereas the American ones barely noticed any. and they were allways playing 8v8

Well the real question is: If I take henchies from the Warcamp (i.e. Mhenlo, Devona, etc), and fight to the statue. Will the henchies be able to enter the UW? I believe the reason they can't at ToA is because they aren't ascended. But Mhenlo, Aiden, Devona and the rest I think are. I could be wrong, which is why I'm asking.

[OFFTOPIC EDIT:] Since they seem not be ascended even when they are in the Ring of Fire... HOW the HELL did they get to the Dragon's Lair? They did not search for the single speck of sand that is Glint's lair all over the desert while we were busy doing the ascension missions now, did they?

I think the logic here is that the Grenth in the shiverpeaks is because people in that are are supposed to be infused and ascended (although the req to be ascended to enter FoW and UW was added after in an update)
I think once they add the other God realms (Lyssa, Dwayna, Melandru), the Lyssa statue in Mineral springs would give access to the Lyssa realm.
