Is there a way to choose which mod you get out of an item?

I have a sword with Health +25 and Armor Penetration 10/10 in some shitty sword and I don't know if I should take the risk or not. Any tricks or suggestions you can give to me?

Short of animal sacrifice (kidding) it is totally random what you will get from a salvage. Either keep it as is ... sell it as is ... or take a deep breath and hope for the best on that salvage.

Normally you get the first mod listed.

No? It's an even chance as I understand it.

Well, the Armor Penetration 10/10 is the first one listed...

I guess I'll just have to take that risk...

Not true.

I don't know the real percentages on that. I just know that the first and second mod have the same chance of getting salvage. The other percent? Random crafting material.

I'd say salvage it. No one wants to buy a crappy sword and take a chance. Salvage it, and best of luck to you.

It's always random, the first mod on the list is not the most common one to get out of the salvage. If you have experienced the pleasure of getting the first mod more often than not, then that's just luck.

Now if that were true, the only mods you would ever salvage would be prefixes. (icy, ebon, fiery, barbed, crippling, cruel, furious, poisoner's, heavy, zealous, vampric and sundering.) Unless of course you had a weapon with just a suffix. I've never personally found, say, an Furious Long Sword of Fortitude off a critter or chest and had the +30 health listed before the 10/10 for furious. I have seen weapons like that before but they all happened when I added the furious mod after the fortitude mod.

----- Lol, shoulda typed faster.
