okay, i used the search button, and found these 2.......but they are old and dont have exactly what im suggesting, but i wish to include some of their idea in this post.
First of all: Echo/Arcane Echo! gaaah how many times have i gone to cast SS and have it interrupted right as it runs out? it is frustrating. i suggest a light colored clock bar, kinda like the dark skill recharge one, only opposite, showing te duration of the echo's skill. this would also be used for inspired hex, inspired enchantment, and any of the other spellthief skills.
secondly: not a huge deal, but i think it at least deserves mentioning. on a persons own interface, let them see the remaining time on things on them. ie. a shadow much like the skill recharge over the status icon. so, you could easily predict remaining prot spirit, mantra of resolve, etc. <--on your own interface only. not to be able to see others, thats their on business and would clutter the interface

Another possibility would be to have the skill blink as it is about to change back to echo or those other skills (in a manner similar to when an enchantment is coming off of you)

ya id be good with that, but blinking woul be really annoying, its hard to not see if its recharging or in effect as the bar would go the other way, but think of this:
If i use ... Lightning Strike (5sec recast) and then i start to copy it. So now i have a 5 recast spell while the timer is going the other way. this would get so confusing with 2 lines going back and forth its gunna give me a migrane!! i think blinking is better than that

I like the blinking idea, if it starts blinking 5 seconds before it is about to reset, it is plenty of time to use the skill again, as well as good notice that the skill is about to reset.

maybe display the shadowed timer in the current-effect area, like where enchantments and hexes on you are
