It would be a good feature. And I can't see any reason why it shouldn't be added

I wouldn't mind having this as a reference when someone leaves. The one problem is that there may be a chain reaction if someone leaves the guild, and when someone new joins, sees a list of, say 12 people that left previously. Wouldn't the person doubt the gulid that they are joining?

Just a thought.

In that case you could change the log again to make it only show things that occured AFTER you joined. What do i care if the guild leader invited someone 2 months ago and they've left since?

Gaile Gray replied to this question in a chat log not so long ago.

She seemed puzzled as to why we would possibly want such a feature!

Gaile: Just as knowing which customers you have lost is important to successfull running of a business, so is knowing who and when members have left your guild is important to running a successfull Guild!

I would also like the log to be permanent, recording who invited whom, who left, who was kicked, etc. Right now it gets cut off after so many entries or something.

IF you need the GAME to tell you when your member isnt happy and has left the guild perhaps you should demote yourself and find a leader whos a bit more aware of whats going on..

there is no reason why you should request responsibility for the comings and goings of your group to be placed on the game.. KNOW YOUR GUILD MEMBERS...

or dont place yourself in a leadership role..

Well maybe a bit harsh but I agree a guild leader should be aware of the members happiness or concerns. This responsibilty also falls on the officers.
Yet some members do not voice their opinions and they just leave. I would like to see this made available for the officers and leader to view!

So you want the guild leader to have to spend 10 minutes going through the guild list every day and comparing that with a list of the people that were in the guild yesterday ?

Or how about the new member who has only been a member for a day or two who just leaves after making himself known to the guild. Guild members then ask where he went.

Or are you telling me that the guild leader should personally know all 90+ members of a large guild, inculding the people that only joined in the last few days, possibly when an officer invited them ?

This suggestion wouldn't help the smaller guilds much, but would be really useful for the large guilds.

That is the worst counter argument ever. I mean do you how do you expect a Guild Leader to keep track of each and every single person!

Not all guilds are small (Less then 30 Members), some are huge and its not always easy to keep track of everyone. Good leadership or otherwise.

Its a simple request which should be in the game.

There is no reason to disagree with this.

So .... every member of your guild tells you if they are happy or not? I don't think so. Even with a web site where members can express themselves, they don't always do so. And I'm not going to spend time asking every member "are you happy?" I'm there, I'm available, and members are free to talk to me and express any concerns. Many do but some don't. It's usually the ones that haven't been in the guild long that leave without notice. Perhaps it is they that should announce "I'm a chronic guild hopper and may leave at any time without notice"

Get real

BTW ..... can't help but notice that your are NOT in a guild.

And how about the people who join the guild, ask for some help, and then mysteriously disappear?

Once, I changed my guild cape. No problems, I thought, who cares about the cape anyway? Then, one of my members convinced five or six others to leave the guild, with no warning, and no attempt to have me ammend the problem. And if I don't know who left, it's my fault?

Most guild leaders know their members, but you can't expect a leader to know every time a member isn't in their guild. Most of the time, I only look at people who are online anyway.

Although I don't necessarily need this to help keep track of our mid-sized guild (and would be fine without it), I can see it being a big help to larger guilds. So...

/signed, however...

After thinking on this a little- how about somehow making this "____ has left the guild" only visible to staff members(Leader and Officers)? These would be the only ones that would need to be concerned with this, perhaps as they want to figure out the why's behind a particular leaving. Plus it would avoid the situation of one newer member seeing someone leave, and as a result they'd have less faith in that guild and consider leaving themself (hypothetical situation). Great idea, but I think it should only be visible to the Leader and Officers.

If your going to invite someone you might want to spend the time BEFORE the invite to get to know something of them.. what aspects of the game they are into.. et al..

Instead Most guilds dont do much of anything together.. apart from the occasional gvg... even then theres very little communication amoung them.. especially if your not on teamspeak or vent..

doing this PRIOR to inviteing them generally removes the whole " well this sucks, I join and no one plays together....." and dont BS people .. if your guild does things in little clicks ( aka four do green farming on occasion, 10 set in GH and bs all day on ts, 30 are in pugs doing missions and farming greens) thats all you have to say.. not " we are VERY active.. always doing missions and farming together... a real tight knit group.." then you join and no one talks to eachother.. theres maybe 15 people who have Logged on in the last week.. 10 of which are officers.... your "60+ guild" has 45 who havent played in a month... etc etc ...

and yes im not in a guild... because the bulk of Leaders ive met couldnt drag a horse to water... over half the officers got that job for signing up when the guild started.. ( easily 50% dont know they can initiate a gvg match)... Im 33, deaf, and not in the mood to join a group that doesnt do a THING together apart from bitch about members leaving... and " they had no idea"...

Ive no problem with a reply.. but your condesention isnt needed...

WHEN I did have a guild it was small with only 12 people.. we all knew eachother by first name basis, we all played together daily.. when six decided they wanted to try out a bigger guild we all talked it over and instead of blindly recruiting we just disbanded and keep in touch on flist.. ( ironically most of us that still play guildwars play more together than they do in their guilds)

Edit: I notice your a "guild leader" .. I wonder how many people your "leading" you actually know by first name and talk to ...

So its the leaders responcibility to get to know a member before and officer decides to invite that member ?
