Larger-scale PvE battles

I don't think this has been brought up before, but with the Assassins seeming ideally suited to it, this might be an interesting idea.
I just think it would be dramatic if there were some parts of GW that (perhaps in missions) had a large number of enemies in an area, say 30 or 40, but they were very low level and relatively easy to beat. Just for fun. Perhaps there could be even 1 mission that is like the better parts of Dynasty Warriors, where the players have to race against time defeating hordes of weak enemies, trying to stop something or get somewhere before time runs out.

Wow, do people really not like this idea?

I like this idea but some sort of this thing is in prophecies.
In gates of kryta when you bring oink and do the bonus you reach the beach. There is a cutscene where you meet the white matle warriors who tell you to help them.
Just after the cutscene you and the white mantle charge over the beach onto a meadow and right into a group of defending undeads. The first time i played it i kind of felt like in saving private ryan and it was just incredibly cool.
I would like to see a mission where there is like a siege and you do such stuff. You and your mates with a dozen of ascalon warriors run throught a field shot on by charr seekers and then fight off the enemy warriors!
Now that, would be cool!

Undead Hordes from Beetletun.
Nolani Academy .... just open the gate.
Go into Old Ascalon and aggro all the stone elementals that you can find.
Plenty of places where you can get your fill of beating up hordes of low level mobs.
There is one mission in the Kryta area where the bonus is killing mobs before they kill an NPC, sort of a timed mission. Can't think of any other similiar to that right now.
Have fun

Alliance Battles are as big as possible in my view

It would be great to have a big battle ... and not with just alot of mobs... but with alot of NPC too, fighting side by side to defeat a continues flood of foe, on a battle ground laiden with deads broken weapons.
However, it would also be call a Lag Feast.

actually this was also done during the FPE. Kurzick and Luxon side got one mish to try out during the weekend. You basically fought alongside npcs and you fought oncoming hordes(army) of enemies.
I got to do/complete the mish for the Kurzick side (not sure how the Lux side was in amount of ppl/npcs battling), and believe me it was "large-scale" enough = almost a "lag-fest".
/speculates they will have more than one of these in factions.

What about PvE Guild Battles?
You formed a guild, you chose a hall, then decide you don't like it? Give guilds the ability to earn a new guild hall by laying siege to a hall controlled by a huge PvE army (like 3 to 5 times bigger than your team).
My guild is far more interested in PvE than PvP, and a short fun repeatable randomized mission for 6 to 12 players would be very popular.

Otherwise if I wanna mass slaughter things, I solo kryta. Barrage + JI FTW.
Or go through tombs, but that takes forever. And it is either too easy or the team falls apart and gets eaten alive.

Sounds like Eternal Grove and Gyala Hatchery maybe?
Or maybe not...

What i want to see (but never will) are massive 32v32 battles where both sides come out of giant gates onto a massive empty plain and just duke it out. Think of AB with no landmarks, caps, and one exit from your spawn.

Open the Gate at Nolani.
Run outside Surmia.
Kill the Charr Army at the Northern Wall.
Enter Gates of Kryta and kill all the undead that walk up the river.

Talus Chute is a good place to find a lot of enemies. Take a look for yourself

Stick a spirit bond monk in there :P

This is one reason I hate Factions missions, too many enemies = drawn out battles where you stand in one place and kill things over and over and over again.
Vizunah Square comes to mind...

I'd go for larger scale battles, makes it feel like more of a war than just small scale skirmishes. I really enjoyed mass missions in tyria, the ones in factions weren't as good though. Missions like viz, grove and hatchery weren't too popular, but I think that was more because of the structure.
That is, defending stuff. I mean protecting togo and mhenlo? If viz was just a free for all mass melee, I reckon it could even be fun. And if you didn't fail just cause the other team has one assassin and the rest henches who try to join up with you.
And the hatchery mission? Would have been pretty cool if you didn't have to guard baby turtles with like 5 hp each. Ended up just taking henches and running right to avoid the caravan. Then creeping around and killing everything I could find before picking them up again.
The eternal grove was fun, cause you didn't really need to defend that hard. You could just concentrate on fighting and still be alright. You'd have to go afk to fail that mission.
