The boat has always been there and since the first time I've seen it I was wondering why the boat is in asian style. It's the only place in Tyria as far as I know (appart from the luxon/kurzick settlements) where you find something asian. Now that Factions is coming, I was wondering, is this a boat from Cantha? And will something be added there after the release of Factions? It would be logical IMO.

They've been using "Asian" theme stuffs, although very minimal. Kryta is Asian theme. Rainforests with old wood houses and the like (at least the loading screen). Cantha is just a full-blown Asian theme content (although Kurzicks look like Dark-Age Europeans, but JApanese are known to be into "Gothic" type dresses).

There the boats that the Dwarves use to move across the frosen ice. The one shown is a battleship sized one based on the siilar one seen at the iron mines of Moladune or the end of the Ice Caves.

Ya, they are just dwarven ice ships. The real Canthan boats look completely different. I think there is one docked at the Random Arenas. Go have a look.

That boat Bacon is a Krytan boat also seen in the Sanctum cay mission if i am correct.
I think that the docked boat in Lions Arch is a Canthan boat because its the only one you can find there and the guildmaster there is a Canthan.

The ship that always confused me was the one in LA. Doesn't it have Orrian insignia on its sails?

Look, if you want to see the boat to Cantha, press "M" and look near LA.

I'm pretty sure the Zaishen aren't Canthan... they're just some group obsessed with Balthazar.

In any case, I believe the Canthan Fairy Captain in LA is the guy that takes you there; I still wonder if the Asian-style ships on the southern coasts were actually intentionally supposed to be Canthan ships. It would make sense, especially since they said that they were already working on Factions even as Prophecies was released.

During the whole Tombs crap when the Zaishen came to investigate they said they had come a long way from cathia. They also were japanees style armor whitch is what the cathans use.

The zaishan are a canthan offshoot that went to the Battle Isles long ago. Their culture is canthan based, but overtime differences have arisen.
