Semi Barrager (LOL Lame name xD) [R/W]

Wilderness survival : 12
Expertise : 12
Marksmanship :10
(I DO NOT HAVE EITHER 15 ATTRIBUTE POINT QUESTS DONE ON THIS CHAR)

Skills:
Frenzy
Power Shot
Savage Shot
Barrage [E]
Kindle Arrows
Troll Unguent
Storm Chaser
Res (or Whirling Defence if you want, depending on situation)

Strategy:
I mainly use this in the RoF missions and Southern Shiverpeaks missions. When there are large groups of mobs, have your warrior call a target, and then power shot + savage shot when they use their first skill/spell. Barrage him until he's dead (duh). Focus on another mob around him and BARRAGE RAWR. Powershot if he's not dead yet and interrupt any undesirable spells.

For any singular mobs, Kindle Arrows, frenzy, and SHOOOT! This works particularly well with a storm bow or long bow. ESP in the Abadons Mouth mission or any mission with idle mobs such as the Ether Seals. You can take them down without even getting in their attk range.

Have fun ! Finished Ice Caves in 15 mins with henchies using this build .

I'm hoping you just miss typed this and meant r/w

if not your hopeless.

Why bring frenzy? You will die very very fast there.

Invest some points into bm for tf. Or just get flurry.

Power shot is crap. Long recharge. Don't like it.

Bring penetrating attack instead.

it's a meh build.

This has be a Primary Ranger...

Replace Frenzy with Tiger's Fury and take out Stormchaser for Whirling Defense.

WHOOPS. Wrongly typed. Yes, I'm primary ranger. And I just threw in stormchaser as a random stance :P since I tend to run as a strategy quite a bit. And power shot works well with frenzy, since you don't use that power shot animation (the long prep part). And I dislike TF since, well, it diables your attk skills (OMG NO BARRAGE!). Frenzy is fine and is mainly for when you aren't being pwned by close range. If some guy starts attking you, just throw on whirling D or stormchaser as a cancel stance.

I dont get it... Are you trying to deal damage, or interupt or what? I mean you cant use kindle with barrage, you have but one warrior skill, when you could have the same skill as a ranger, and you want to use a longbow for savage shot? Too many variables. You dont need to bring preps if you intend on using barrage. Or bring preps and drop barrage. Lose the warrior class, and use either all ranger, or a secondary that has skills that your ranger doesnt have. Honestly, if you want to deal damage, deal it... dont half ass your build and be a little bit of this and that. And plz, if you must use savage shot use a different bow.

Savage shot is a filler -.- Barely use it unless a monk boss is being gay. And no, I don't spam barrage unless its a group. Vs bosses or 2 or so mobs, I kindle + frenzy.. Can deal more than 60dmg per shot, and with a 33% speed increase, it just pwns.

Meh I actually barely ever get hit since anyway so frenzy is good for me. And I tend to use non attk skills more than attk skills so kinda pointless. Barrage is used by me only with 3+ of the SAME mob.

Why would his bow type matter at all in relation to savage shot, that just doesn't make any sense.

Longbows are fine for interrupts for pve.

Replace Storm Chaser with Dodge or Whirling Defense (all you need is a stance to cancel out Frenzy if you start getting hit, these are Expertise stances rather than WS)

Replace Kindling Arrows with Favorable Winds (works with Barrage, and is a Marksmanship skill)

Replace Power Shot with Penetrating Shot, or if you still want to use Kindling Arrows, Dual Arrow. Or consider Debilitating Shot as a second interrupt. With Marksmanship high, Barrage packs a +12 to +16 hit even on single targets, so it can be a decent lead shot for a spike attack, so you don't really need a second.

Now that Troll Unguent is the only WS skill you have, lower it to about 7 or 8 and put the Att points in Marksmanship instead. +7 hps is plenty effective for TU.

BTW Flatbow w/Favorable Winds + Barrage = Longbow w/Frenzy + Barrage (because the recharge + activation of Barrage is minimum 2 seconds) and does not hurt as much when you get hit. Take both bows and switch as appropriate.
