Factions out in Japan

Wow, what a nice screw over for those of us who bought pre-orders so we could have a head start. I don't care if it's just PvP, I put in the effort to pre-order, why do they get to start before me? It's BS.

I very much care if its PvP.

Is this thread saying that Japan has access to the +HP armours and no-one else does? Thats going to make a lot of people pretty pissed.

I guess they had to find out what would happen when people without factions skills take on people WITH factions skills. Not everyone is going to own both games.

I'm not saying that they had that in mind when they made that decision. Just that it's something they can find out at this point.

If all of a sudden, people in Japan are trouncing all other regions due to the factions skills and armors, then their promise of maintained balance in each expansion is not fulfilled. And if not, then there's still more time before people unlock enough for an accurate assessment of the situation.

In the end, we'll just have to wait and see what happens.

Eh, I don't PvP much, but I occasionally do.. But I'd like to see Factions vs. Prophecies skills/armors..

Good thing I'm on American Districts, so they won't effect my economy.

And good thing I'll still beat them in pvp.

Eh. Kinda sucks but oh well. One week ahead isnt a huge deal. The hardcore pvpers may have a problem with this but thankfully I"m not one of them.

I'm sure Anet has a somewhat good reason for it.

It's a bug; the person can't get in anymore. I suspect it was some combination of the content already being there, and using a Japanese key on an American server. Just a funky interaction, and as far as I know, all fixed.

Yup, might be related with a "faction" CD-Key. Coz I/we tried before and didn't work.
In any case, for us Asians, they should at least allow it, hehe. Merging of CD-Keys from diff. regions.

Regardless, good thing it was fixed. A lot of people had various amounts of money down for the opportunity to get 24 hours headstart. A small lead in the grand scheme of the game, but 24 extra hours to find out what all the armors need, what some of the better quests are, hardest missions, etc. Knowledge is power.

P.S. Don't be under the silly impression that most of those going for the 24 headstart won't use every moment of it. There will be many sleepless hours. But, the general populous can play catch up when we all crash out for 15 hours of sleep, en masse ^_^

Anyone in the United States had better sit pretty and smile at this news - any other reaction and you're forgetting the likes of the UK STILL not having Katamari Damacy.

True. But no, I'll try to keep things going. I'll try to keep sleep controled and keep on playing hehehe, well everybody will get to catch up sooner or later. Those with head start access still have real-lives to take care of, social-lives to manage, girl/boyfriends, wives/husbands... unless you are hmm....

face it NCSoft will ALWAYS show a preference to their own... That how Asia works folks... either they whip you into submission or give you special treatment because they don't follow the same rules that everyone else has too. there is no in between... Many US retailers have the retail package in stock now (or will very shortly), but are not allowed to sell it until release date. they just don't follow those edicts in Asia. Alla Harry Potter books and just about ANYTHING ELSE with special World release dates. Asia doesn't care either way, If they have it they sell it. Period.

hmm, not a good way to deliver the message (kinda offensive) but yah its true. We get to watch movies as early as a month earlier than anybody else for example Well, East Asia, or politiclly called as ASEAN+3+India (ASEAN + China, Japan, Korea + India) is getting closer as ever. We're preparing to launch Acu (Asian Currency Unit - though a weighted index only). We're actually on the way to removing our dependency on the USD, and stand on our own, our own identity, our own rules instead of rules dictated by the US Dominion. (not sounding being racist but it was mentioned).

Also, Japan recently launch, they still have a long way to go to market the game there, releasing an expansion early can boost the game's existence in the Japanese market.

it did come off more racial then I meant it too. its just that most of the time they are manufactured over there and put immediately out on market, instead of waiting for world releases... Its been an ongoing problem in the region for a long time...

BTW: the ACU sounds fantastic. that will definatly help your market values and shares. I had not heard that one yet. sounds very interesting... and should improve your trade relations with each other in the region... Just as the Euro did in Europe. Congrats on that... will be watching with hopeful eyes...
