I am a Warrior/Monk 16 and have Droks Platemail. Yet in the last few groups I have been in I have died several times. Is there something I might be doing wrong? Other then picking the wrong pickup groups?

Is this normal or is there something I should be doing different as a newbie I tend to feel guilty.

Thanks,
Nathan

Your armor, is it all sup runes? Such As Sup Axe,Sup Hammer, Sup sword all on armor? Maybe your low life, or not enough life? Use a major vigor if you can't afford a sup vigor. Use your healing skills, I don't advise wammos(warrior/monks) never liked em, but they can take a hit or two and heal as well. Or you can always use heal signet.

However I am doing the missions... I forget which one the name was... it was the one where you kill the blades around the towers...

I am not upset just wanting to make sur eI am doing a GOOD job of being a warrior.

Nope I don't have any Sup or Major Runes yet... just the minor ones as I am still learning ... I bought a green hammer last night.... in hopes if I kill the enemy quicker then maybe I will live longer... LOL

I might consider adding some more runes or higher ones... my attributes were 11 str and 10 Hammer - I think I have 1 str rune.

Sounds like Riverside Province? In which case, you are now fighting enemies around (greater?) than your level. In which case, expect to die on occasion. Especially without a decent monk about

Just remember, Forge armor does not make you able to tank everything in the game. If you are wandering around the Forge area (Talus Chute, Whitman's Folly) you'll notice that the enemies there are OVER level 20 (level 22-24, with level 28 bosses). Work on controlling your pace, wait till the group is ready to attack, and take some form of self-healing. I also have a W/Mo, but I only use monk skills when farming. I usually run a pure warrior build with the rez spell (cause you never know). It is important to learn your limitations, because there is no UBER character in the game.

Are you saying you solo farm with a rez skill?

Just because you have decent armor doesn't me you can tank everything in the game. In fact, you're as vulnerable as any squishy to degen and armor-ignoring damage. Consider playing with more defensive skills. Belly smash is a particulary good choice for a hammer warrior.

EDIT: WARNING! WARNING! THE FOLLOWING IS SARCASM! PLEASE DO NOT TAKE IT SERIOUSLY!

Of course, if the problem persists, you can just echo mending on yourself then charge in and use frenzy all the time for increased damage and use healing sig whenever you're taking heavy damage. If you die, remember, it's all the monk's fault.

Hehe, you're too young to know, maybe when you're older.

Maybe you shouldn't have gotten a run to droknar's forge then. If you can still die in the top armour on such an easy mission without knowing why, good god.

Experienced players don't need armour...proof: my monk , ele and ranger finished the game with presearing armour. ( done hell's precipe FYI )

I've encountered a few people who purchased runs their first trip through the game. It's a shame, really....

Nothing else ever convinced me that runners were just a bad idea until I started seeing this. New players who don't know any better see people being run to Droknar's Forge and think "Ok, that's what I have to do next..."

I ended up teamed with a level 13 Elementalist in the Ice Caves mission who was confused, didn't know what a Mursaat was, and was unaware that there was more between Beacon's Perch and Droknar's Forge. He had gotten a free run, bought his armor, and continued the game, never realizing he had missed content.

Nice guy. He played well, controlled his aggro, and didn't die...it's just a shame that he slipped through a crack in the game and missed the desert. Needless to say, I informed him he should go back to Beacon's Perch and continue.

Anyway, yeah, having a character run is something people do when they have played through the game already and don't want to wait to get their endgame armor or do missions for the 5th time. Your first time through, just play the game in a straight line. It's more fun that way and you will actually learn to play

Well, that sounds good on paper, but me beeing a noob I feel that it's totally impossible to experience the single player game in the same way that others did when the game was new. I'm constantly exposed to people who have multiple highlvl chars who know the mishs and everything, and the few noobs that do play often don't speak english or just plain suck.
So I generally play with my one m8 that KINDA likes this game and henchies, because otherwise you just get run through the game, even if it's with dudes your own lvl.. it's just the same.
Oh, and I did go to droks, felt like hearing what all the hype was about.. bought the 60 armor, didn't really notice a whole lotta difference, you still get your ass kicked if you play badly n so on.

I don't agree with that not at all....the monk is my fav char I play on it all the time dont really bother with my other chars just got them to lvl 20 bet the game and left them how they where and went back to my good old monk lets say im in a group and some ones starys from the group and gets him self in trouble .. should I leave the group to go help him or keep the others safe.. I personally would just stay with the group then when its all clear go back and fetch the little bugger and after I rez him I then ask him to stay with the group if he does it again hes on his own.. and also when ever the party gets into a big aggro you cant expect the monk to keep evry one alive.. evry healing skill uses 10+ energy so lets say I have 45 energy thats only 4 ppl I can heal unless I have word of healing witch I always have on since it only needs 5 energy to use and its a life saver when evry thing hits the fan and all the casters (ele, necro, mes) starts running around like a chicken with its head cut off trying to stay alive lol kinnda funny when that happens but not when they make a bigger aggro then its a free for all every man/women for them selves and hope some one lives with a rez skill lol...

ok back on topic bummer forgot what the topic was.......
o ok i remmber just like what a few other ppl alrdy said go back to beacons and find a group thats going to kryta since you alrdy have droks armor you will be a little harder to kill since you have more armor on you than what was intended at that point of the game lol but yes you will still die no biggy it happens lol after you get to kryta you will be back on track good luck
