Trader Mode
WhereAmI
Hello,
This looks long but it is very important so please read it.I would like to put in some input towards this game. I have been playing for 5 months, and i have 2 lvl 20's which i love playing both. However, after my first 2 months i had to take a break, i got burnt out. I realized that i grind and grind to get all these great items, but sometimes can be set backwards in trying to sell them. I notice that in evry zone i go there are people selling items...now im going to jump to the point. I suggest that a "trader" mode be added to the game. It is where you are in a certain zone designed for trading. You add the items your trying to sell, and set a price. The buyers then have a window they can pull up to search for their items, and see who has the best price. I have experienced this change in a previous game, and it worked out o so perfectly.
Reasons for adding trader mode
1. This eliminates spending hours spamming, and changing zones to try and sell stuff
2. It erases the spam in every zone you go to, where as the zones shoudlnt consist of people trying to make money, but doing what hsoudl be done in the zone.
3. If you want to buy something, and dont know the exact price, there will be many others selling the same item, and there wont be price fluxuations.
I would like feedback from everyone, and i especialy want feedback from the game technicians.
if it is a lost cause, then so be it, it was just a suggestion. but to me it would improve the game.
thanks
Hemi

You're preaching to the choir here. I think auction houses (or something similar) are something alot of people want implemented into the game.

Yeah! signing for this!

Anet has stated that they are working on an auction house. Until then there is an auction on this web site. There are also place online to find out current prices for items. I don't know if we will ever see the end of sellers spamming in local chat.
As Phaern said: "You're preaching to the choir here."
But thanks for bringing it up again

Per Anet's developer (I don't remember who, but heard in a podcast) they are working on "something to deal with trading, maybe an auction house" and Gaile has said something similar - that it wouldn't be out with Factions but would show up as a free update sometime "soon."
I think that if they *do* implement an auction house, I suspect you'll see a change to the EULA (if it's not there already, i haven't looked) making it verboten to spam the local chat channel with trade messages.
People aren't supposed to now, but the difference is there will be a viable alternative, so the volume will go down and I bet enforcement will go up.
Imagine a world where you can not only easily sell your crap through an auction house, but where you can turn off the trade channel and then have an ACTUAL discussion on the local channel.
(Of course, I'll probably keep mine off anyway, because the non-trade chat on local is usually at the level of "omg ur a n00b." But that's a different fight.)
