I don't know if this is a bug or it's meant to be that way:
All spirits are meant to work if you're in their range. Now,with EoE is different. If I'm not in the range of the spirit and I'm in range of someone who is in the range of spirit it hits me as well. If it's meant to be that way they should put it in description of a skill and yet if it's not they should fix the bug.
It's actually stupid, for example you are a warrior who needs to kill spirits. Since you're not in range of the spirit icon of that spirit won't appear on your bar and you won't know it's there. So you will run around killing stuff then someone else who is in range will take the dmg from the spirit and kill you as well.

You still didn't answer my question. If it's supposed to be a chain effect then they should put it in the skill description. Actually they shouldn't. They should do this: If one of your member is in a range of EoE and you're in range of that ally and not spirit you should have icon on your bar as well because that's how it works.

Effectively the maximum target range of EoE is it's standard range, plus an additional "nearby" range. the addition can only be met if the dying character is at the edge of... the edge.
I agree though, and it would be a technical error that needs to be fixed. If you're in range of a person in range of EoE, then you should have EoE as well, because the addition has been met. It would mean that the borders of EoE would be very dodgy... don't know if that's a good thing.
