Character Slots Offered 20 April 2006
We are happy to announce that you will be able purchase additional character slots for your Guild Wars account beginning this summer for $9.99 U.S. (or equivalent). Each new slot will enable you to add a new character to your account with full access to all of the content your current characters enjoy. We'll have more details to share soon!

lol yeah i can now make all the characters i want. Of course... storage is gonna go to hell. Guess this means it can be done and in a way ANET sees it as possible income source.

it's nice that they listened to the ppl complaining about the lack of char slots. but it's not nice that the game will end up costing more than pay to play games for those who will purchase additional slots.

Ill be a detractor. 10 dollars for a slot is too expensive IMHO. 10 dollars for 2 slots seems reasonable.
Thought he mentioned in q and a that the slots would be usuable for merged accounts? so i dont think you have have to buy multiple times for each chapter.

yes but with two seperate acounts you can log on both accounts at the same time! Plus you can let a friend borrow one......

Notice they announce this before factions so if you have the multi account for more space, you can cancel pre-orders knowing you can get the spaces latter instead of trying to milk you for more sales then tick you off annoucing this after you bought the extra faction accounts.

I do not see why people are complaining. Buy faction and you have 6 slots now. Then for $30 bucks, 10 bucks cheaper than adding an unlinked account, you can have 8 PvE slots and 1 PvP slot.
Everyone knew that adding slots would cost as that is what people were begging for. Now they got it, they complain more. No one is forcing people to add all the slots they need at once. Build up your characters and when you need more room, buy them.
The people who I do feel have a valid complaint are those with two accounts now, that will not be able to merge into one or sell there accounts when they opt to just buy slots on account to make unlocking easier.
