Leavers...you suck you know that?
Gun Pierson
This goes out to peeps who join a group and leave after a while for several reasons:
1) 'dinner is ready': Wtf don't start a coop. adventure if you know you're going to eat in 15-30 minutes. Or at least warn the others you're having dinner soon and ask if it's ok to be afk for 5-15 minutes if that's an option.
2) 'my comp crashed': Weird, mine never crashes. Put firewall, anti-spyware, anti-virus on your computer and get a good connection. You can download zone-alarm for free.
3) ...
I must admit I was forced to leave a group myself this week for the first time in almost a year. I got an unexpected visit from my boss and couldn't finish the game.
Bottom line: People should only leave for a serious reason otherwise they shouldn't start adventuring. If not you're selfish and wasting other's time. I consider getting an unexpected visit from a woman who wants to .... your brains out as a valid reason though.

Your other points are fairly valid, but what's the purpose of this?

Hehehe.. you know what you should do? Try and find the person again, and form a group with them and the rest guildies, then go into tombs/ta/mission/ w/e and win a few battles and then just gradually leave. That would be funny.
But on the otherhand, you can't always predict what happened to them if they logged out with no reason. As you said in your first post, you once had a situation where you had to leave, and error 7's aren't unheard of...

Like doing a pet/barrage team in tombs and you get 2-3 leavers in the last rounds. Fun aye, wasted an hour. I like to finish what I start.

Anyways, I said this thread has no purpose because it is the 10000th of its kind.

if your connection is lost for just a little while you wont be able to get back. and some people have shitty connections. i crash a lot because of that once in a while(happens in bursts of a few days for me, whenever the provider is doing things, but some people have permanent problems)

I've been known to randomly drop out of missions and quests for no reason that the team knows of... It seems to happen most frequently when I am in a 2-man UW team, at the worst possible moment.
It's called an Error=07, and it sucks. Also, my computer doesn't have the greatest hardware right now. It's old, getting sluggish, and it's an ornery whale sometimes. I've got every protection you have and probably more, but that doesn't stop it from going *BOOM!* every now and then. Oh and, by the way, you shouldn't tell people to "get a good connection" because honestly, do you think they'd have an inferior one when it was possible to have the superior version?
No. Duh. It's called lack of resources, be they money or availability. Not everyone has the luxury of a local DSL/Cable/Sattelite provider. And I'm damn sure not everyone can afford the broadband bills.
Yeah. Those people that start what they can't finish, or just leave for the hell of it, need to give it up and quit with the nonsense. However, this thread is like the bajillionth of its kind, so give it a rest already and post in one of the other ones...

It's almost a fact of GW Pugging. You can ask the questions if they will have diner soon or otherwise leave, but that's about it. It's a fact that Real Life can kick sometimes, as well as ragequitters in GW.
As for the rant on connectionfailure, it CAN happen. But I shouldn't defend it, all these arguments were also allready beaten to death.

sometimes i have to leave because of error=7 thingy. but i can't find anyway to help that.
i will purposely leave a group if people try and tell me how to run my build, or if we all have 60dp. or if everyone is yelling at the monks, i hate that.
but i do say before i leave (apart from the error msg thing) unlike people who just leave without giving reason.

cant understand why people whine about leavers then admit they have left a group too.
Pr1nc355SaRa
oh, i also leave games because i have a baby and when he wakes up, obviously he comes before me playing a game.
are people with lives and families aloud to join your co-ops???

I never leave, unless the party is no longer fun. People might be yelling at each other or someone decided to screw up the bonus. Or when people blame me for them dieing all the time. I can't think of any more reasons, but the "No fun" part covers most of it. Real live comes in its way too, but I always warn when that happens.

keeping a 24/7 stable pc isnt hard
Sekkira
I rarely get err 7's. Sometimes my connection dies because my ISP is retarded. I also understand that NVidia Video Cards aren't on a friend-like basis with Guild Wars. It seems it's not an unusual thing for the client to just disappear from existance apparently. Or event freeze up, mess the screen and require a reboot.
Try doing that with a Microsoft OS. Really. 24/7.

Yes, leavers suck. But people's computers DO crash, the game crashes and internet connections drop. It's a fact of life. Let's move on.
