1. Let's say I have a staff and one of the attributes is dam 8 - 13 with dom 6 or better. It seemed to do 8 - 13 with my Dom below 6 but as much as 18 damage with the dom 6 or better. Does this sound correct?

2. With a staff, my "shield" hand item has the circle with a slash through it. Gone if I switch to a 1 handed item. If using the staff and the "no" symbol showing, do I gain any beneifit of the item or should I just sell them as my best weapon at the moment is a staff? A little gold wouldn't hurt.

3. And last for this morning I have a purple type minor armor I picked up in pre-sear over the wall fighting Char. I'm post now and there seems to be no way to "wear" it, maybe class limitation? Keep for later, sell, salvage?

Thanks

1. Uhm yeah that seems right, the higher the dom attribute the more dmg you do

2. while using your staff you don't get the benefits from you 1 handed item, if you think about keep on using your staff only it's best 2 sell everything else.

3. if the rune inside the armor isn't from your class and you're not going 2 created that class then it would be best 2 just sell it.

1. Damage is based of an AL60 calculation. You're hitting mobs that are lowlevel and have low armor. Once you meet the req, that's as much damage as you can deal to that target by adjusting stats.

2. What was said, you don't get bonuses. It just allows you to save space.

3. Identify the armor, and you'll find either a minor or major rune. This can be salvaged with an expert salvage kit to give you a rune. You can only use runes of your primary class on your armor, to give +boosts to skills. Depending on the rune, sell it as armor or rune (most major runes are worthless, some minors like strength have some small value to trader).

Axe Fiend Armor of Minor Vigor
Amor 22
Health +30 (non-stacking) What does that mean?
Valued at ~22gp

Sounds like warrior armor to me. Better to sell as armor to the trader or would the salvaged rune be worth more?

Again thanks all. Been trying to read up on FAQS, etc. Just to much of this game not documented. By far the worst manual I think I ever recieved with a game. 50+ pages of historical BS that should have been used expiaining the game.

The Vigor runes are a non-class specific rune that gives 30/41/50 health (min/maj/sup). Considering the shop value (on the armor) is very low, and such a rune can be used by you, I'd use an expert salvage kit on the armor, then use the produced rune on your own armor (a piece you're likely to wear all the time for awhile). This will give you the +30 life bonus, so long as you wear that piece of armor. (non-stacking) means that if you wear 2 vigor-runed armor pieces, only the more powerful one will have an effect. Basically, just only have 1 rune per type in your armor if you're after the benefit.

You can salvage your own armor in an attempt to reclaim the runes (the only way to get them back), but the chance is really 50-70% or so.

Right now I'm just wearing some of the first upgrades I could afford in Post. Gloves, boots, and leggings. Hopefully better is down the road. I think I'll salvage it and hang onto it, although if my playing skills don't come up a bit, I may use it to stay alive longer.

Damage is based on a 60 armor calculation; but I believe you forgot that this is chaos damage that we are dealing with-thus ignores armor. Thusly the damgae would be based solely if he met the requirement of the weapon or not; dealing equal damage to any target (of course ignoring the effect of absorb type runes and effects)

Chaos, Dark and Holy damage are only unaffected by armor when cast by a spell (Chaos storm, Shadow Strike, Balthazar's Aura etc). The wand damages are still affected by armor.

Gonna hi-jack my own thread here. I've been looking around at tons of different builds For the player running around on the more minor quests still unlocking skills and drumming a little bit of gold, what does anyone want to recommend for a build or does it really matter? As a Me/Mo running with a a combo of Interupt/power stealing/and health. Just a basic Purple type staff with a little help in health. Most builds seem geared to you leveled up bad ass types

What part of the game are you at?

Regardless, try to balance:

Anticaster (backfire, power spike, etc)
Antiwar (empathy, etc)
Self preservation (ether feast, distortion, etc)
and a Res skill

I'm doing Ok at the moment if I plan my attacks carefully. If you have someone/monster targeted, sometimes I see spells listed under the red health bar in the middle of the screen. Where and to whom do these spell bars belong to?

Those would be the targetted person's skills that are being used
