MM Problems\Questions

Ok I see, I'll toss Heal Area into the mix and work on lvling. I would party, but you know, I'm tired of trying to play with idiots. Might be a bit harsh, but those are the kinda people I always end up in a party with, ahh the memories I have with my monk.

So I tend to try and solo most quests or just take henches, if trying to use a MM build at low a lvl becomes too hard I will switch over to a Blood or Curses build probably.

If anyone wants to help out with a Blood or Curses build I would appreciate it. Seems like I'm gonna have to end up using something like that till I hit the mid to high teens. Never know, I may end up liking Blood and Curses better..

rotting flesh
Offering of blood (E)
heal area

blood: 9
death: 16
soul: 11
healing: 8

(not totally positive on numbers..:P)

i switch between morgrifs scepter/shadestone and the collector's death staff (20%/20%)[i think hes outside of Elonas Reach, 5 mino horns?]


what i did when i was trying out this build for the 1st time, i ran around outside of the courthouse or nolaini academy till i got confortable with the build and maintaining the minions...and try to make it to Flame Temple...and take those guys out....(bring lots of salvage kits :P)

also, try and sub out blood of master for a while untill you get used to watching your health drop alot from the sacrificing....

tips: stay way back after a massive sacrifice session

.....and i usually do this order of skill BoTM+VS+heal area, while doin the MM jig

My MM build is feinds, horors vert sac, wich you can either cap from Verta at kessek peak when you have done Villany, but it is rather hard, best to farm 2k faction and cash in factions then rebuy it, then heal area, 1 for rez. Now you have 3 to work with, you probably want to have at least 1 attack, I use vamp gaze.

2 more to go, these are anything you want, you can use animate minions, if you haven't got it you can cap from the reversing the scales, its a good skill for building an army fast. I am in SF and they like to hit with status disorders so I use a plague sending. The last slot I use for a bit more health or energy, Order of Blood {E}.

Your curse build depends entirely on your secondary, sounds like you have monk. Most curse builds ues a mes secondary , for archane echo. Curses are easy and fun, it is hard to make a bad curse build, although some may be better than others. I find mark of pain to be good sub for spitefull spirit.

You may want to bring some wells. If you have a MM either drop the corpse skills or work with the MM, there is few things worse that competing necros.

just make sure you have a lot of points in you primary build and in soul reaping.

Weapons:

MM are judged on our minion's lvl, you want to get a +1 death, now the best is Bartock's cesta, which is around 80k (ouch), good thing there is a more affordable option. Go to Riverside and either step outside and kill the mossy mandibles untill you get 5 or buy five. Then go to Maguuma Stade, and talk to the collector behind the merchant.

Now all you need is a max damage wand, I use the desert collector, which wants 5 desert griffion wings and is a challenge to get to, or Morgriff's scepter which is around 1 or 2 k.

Good info thanks. Well I tried using Heal Area and that greatly helped, but it seems like what I have been hearing is correct. I really need to be around lvl 17-18 to work a MinionMaster. I went ahead and got those Death collector items with my Monk last night, so I would have them.

I guess... I guess I will work on a Blood or Curses build. I don't really want to spam and make a new thread, so I will just hijack my own thread! If someone could help me out with something that can solo (I like to “grind” and level up a lot dunno why I guess WoW did that to me and I explore a lot) and yes I know I can get to 20 by just playing the game, but what fun is that?!

Well of Blood -Later I'll make it Life Transfer, Life Transfer just isn't very accessible for a new character.

Not sure if this will work well at the start of the game or not, but I suppose I will find out! I'm going to start hunting down some collector Blood Items and work on unlocking these skills today I suppose.

because we are in a MM thread: here's a solo build with death magic

-animate bone fiend (use fiends more in places with much ranged opponents)
-animate bone horror (use horros more if you need a meat wall)
-verata sac
-LT / siphon/dark bond
-blood renewal
-death swarm
-taste death
-siphon/gaze

death:16, sr:10 blood:10

you can solo all ascalon, north shiverpeak and maguuma missions with this one ^^

about a curse/blood build, try using things like sof and enfeeble blood to actually tank melee monsters.

This is my MM build i use it for every thing, SF, Tombs, missions and anything else i do :P

Death Swarm - 1 and only attack skill, Good cos it attacks more then one
enemy and with MAx death it dose High Dmg.

Animate bone fiend - For when you have more then enough nrg and need rangered minons.

Animate bone horro - For When u need minons fast and are low on nrg.

Verata Sac - Spam this to heal u Minons.

Blood of the Master - spam this when need to heal.

Dark Bond - MOST IMPORTANT this skill with mine you take only 25% of dmg delt to you so make sure it is up when u have a big or small armor, not only to keep u alive, but if u die you mions will go rouge on your team. This also allows u to use BoTm near u minons who are next to the enmie with only worring about major dmg.. >> this is a most skill for any MM <<

Offereing of Blood - NRg mangemnt use when ever u need a bit of nrg, it has an alright recharge so use offten f needed.

Res Signet - to res ppl


also i find the collotecs bone staff is relay good with 20% chance on cast/recharge on death... sometimes means i can cast straight afterwards
