salvaging unlocked items

every now and then , when u identify an item, it says item unlocked. Then , when u salvage it with an expert salvage kit , it does not salvage the item unlocked but crappy bones orso. Is this a bug in the game or just a gamble u take ?

sounds like you are salvaging a weapon. You won't always get a weapon mod when you expert salvage a weapon, something that i don't like, but oh well. Basically, yea, it is a gamble to whether or not you'll get the mod from a weapon. btw, it would be the mod that is getting unlocked, a mod being either the suffix or prefix (prefix sould be things like Fiery, Cruel, Sundering, Vampiric, etc. while a suffix always starts with of, such as of Shelter, of Fortitude, of Defense, etc.)

Unlocked doesnt mean you'll salvage it. Unlocked means its unlocked for your account at the priest of balt.

unlocked means the mod is now usable when making a PvP character.
and salvaging a weapon, there is never a garuntee that you will get the mod you want.

say you get a Firey Flamberge of Fortitude. the dang thing isn't near max, but it has a +30 health mod on it. so, you decde to salvage it and kill yourself when you see "Salvaged Firey Sword Hilt" in your chatbox >_<; there is a pretty equal chance between getting either mod, then a small chane of just getting some crappy wood or iron or whatev.
