I have rearranged ny interface such that upkeep, hexes and conditions are in the same place as my skills and health/hp bar. When monking in competitive 8v8 i find that having all this information in the same place can really help. What does not help is when i put my mouse over a skill the desciption pops-up and completely obscures my upkeep, hex and condition bar, health and even energy bar. Whats worse is that for me at least these skill descriptions are completely useless. I know what my skills do, i even know what hexes that are put on me do, there is no need for these skill descriptions.
Is it much to ask for the ability to be able to switch them off. I am not saying abolish them completely, they do come in useful occasionally, but in the heat of battle it is hindering my performance.
It could be argued that i should just use numbers for skills, but i find that i am faster using a mouse to target skills, and use the Numpad to select party members. If my hands are on skill numbers rather than on the WASD keys i can no longer kite effectively.
Basically /signed if you think you should be able to toggle these skill descriptions

This is not the first time this has been pointed out, but I understand that the search engine is not really usefull to look for threads on this "subject", because, how to call those things?

It is not that I like having things this way, it is that the default positions annoy me because the skills' help pop-ups!

Ive been thinking of posting a topic like this cuz i hate it too, i know all the skills and hexes.
Only problem: If a foe uses a skills... lets use backfire, i do not know what level it is at, so i could be not using my flare or orison because of... 20 damage when i think its 135 or so. only con to it...

I did search for any similar topics, but Skill Description Pop-ups was the best search i could think of, and i didnt find any posts related to it.
Yeah, checking the dmg of things like backfire can be useful, its one of the better reasons to keep it on, but tbh, backfire gets contemplationed away fast (or u just cast thro with prot spirit on) and the real killer hexes (diversion) last 6 secs no matter what their rank, and imo are equally devastating at almost any level.
I hope this annoyance is brought to the attention of the developers. They seemed to spend a lot of time over the aethstetics of the game (the shape of the skill charge bar for instance) or implementing changes which arnt really needed (changing the sound messed up a lot of ppls game for a bit). This is really a very small change which would improve the game far more than enything else i can think of.

I positively agree with this I want to put other interface items above my skill bar but have to put them under because it is always blocking them with that stupid text. I can't stand it. Example...
