I thought there was going to be an increase in quality of items(at least I heard this), which would probably mean a jump from +15% to maybe 20% damage or a bluff to say 10% suddering 30% chance. These changes will make old prophecies greens rather worthless; other than their relatively easy aquisition of a "good" item.
EDITED: This was based on the lastest interview telling about factions.

Vamp daggers will be in more demand than the zeals. Zeals are for nooby Zins. Zins real problem is dmg not energy.
Armor mods are going to go up. Zins don't need hp they need armor.

I have no idea what you're talking about twicky. 'sin's have no problems with damage. Vamp/Zeal dagger mods should go crazy though. a good perfect vamp/zeal dagger with 15^stance should go for huge ammounts, no matter what they look like. Keep in mind, the sins are also offered more versatility than most classes, offering at least 2 types of damage (piercing, slashing, and i forget whether or not blunt) + ele dmg. So that might matter to people also.
You're forgetting the biggest items of all: Amber and Jadite.
There's going to be a huge flood of people wanting to buy shiny new 15k armor, all of which requires amber or jadite.
So let's see... you could spend several days doing quests and playing Alliance battles over and over again... OR you could just buy them wholesale from someone else. Guess what the people who have hundreds of plat saved up are going to do...
I predict that those who spend the first few days simply racking up as much faction as possible and turning it into amber/jadite will make a tidy profit.
EDIT: The Fox, the max stats of items will not go up. They have said that there will not be new weapons or armor that is superior to Prophecies items, this would mess up a lot of things.

Here's a link to it. The quote I used is near the bottom of the page.

Basically if they change the mods on all future drops then the old ones are worthless, BUT nobody has been given any "advantage" because people from Tyria could just play more until they get a gold that has the new and improved mods.

there will be more benefit.
because u can know the ecto price in future faction from this.
if no new stats on fow armor, its mean no Rt and Asn's fow armors there.
so...u can sell ur all ectos and shards earlier.

I would sell almost all items right now. When factions comes out, people will want new skins, and none of the current skins (even the chaos axes and stuff) will be worth crap compared to what they are worth now. Mods, materials, runes, sigils.. those will all go up, while most items prices will go down.
There will be more new players however, so I'm sure you can still sell items with decent stats for a decent amount.. but that's just do to them being new. And new people aren't loaded with gold, so it's really a mute point.
