Ranger Build question..

I'm a first time player and I was wondering what a good ranger build was. I've mainly decided to go R/Mo or R/Mes and I'll normally be partying with one of my friends who is a W/Ele.

I basically want a good build that can kill stuff as well as perform in PvP. Any recommendations?
