THIS BUILD IS NOW OFFICIALLY DEAD BECAUSE ROTSCALE WAS CHANGED TO NECRO AND NOW DROPS A GREEN ITEM

Ok, there is a smiter warrior build with aoes and lots of complicated things so I decided to make an easier one. This build basically kills this dragon in about 5 seconds. Here it is

Run to Majesty's Rest from ToA (pretty easy run).

In the zone:

The picture above contains all the information about the build, weapons I used and attribute setup. Shield/Axe can be replaced with whatever you use... they don't matter at all.

While you're running to the dragon, you might meet some ghouls and occasionaly a warrior boss. Here's the action picture

OK, There is our dragon... looks freaky.

Aggro it, pull it back to this position, try to escape it's deafening roar by going back a bit while it's activating it. Don't stand in the range of other dragons because they interrupt Judge's Insight.

Well, that's pretty much it. Good luck soloing it, guys, it's not that hard

.

EDIT Here's the Map. Posting it due to a few requests.

The Rotscale is marked by the red dot and I marked the path from ToA aswell.

PS Don't run too far back when you're fighting it because:
1) It loses aggro and goes back in.
2) There are armies of undead patroling the area when you attack Rotscale and if you aggro them, you are most likely going to die...

Rotscale never seems to drop anything good. aggroing 30+ Graspings is fun, and there's that chest up there on the right that always seems to spawn in the same spot.

Nice build, looks very doable. If I was convinced that he would drop something worthwhile once in a while (not once in a lifetime), I might give it a try.

Yeah, I killed him a few times with my ranger by poisoning him and his flunkies to death. He never seemed to drop anything worthwhile though.

I took a W/N with:

Plague Touch
Eviscerate
Executioners
Cyclone Axe
Distracting blow
Dolyak Signet
Watch Yourself
Sprint

15 Axe
10 tactics
rest in strength

sup axe + executioners helm, minor strength, minor tactics.

Slower than yr build I'd bet, but worked none the less.

Didnt get any exciting drops, a few purples and blues of caster items, nothing max.

This runs make me want a Place with 20k of them small grey monsters that i could go killing spree on xD ..

That thing drops nothing worthwhile. In 3 runs i got 3 non max white useless items from Rotscale and 3 purple Ghouls Collars for wiping out huge armies of Grasping Ghouls (which is much more fun when you DON'T have an ele boss spamming blinding flash when your surrounded...

Skull Crack and Frenzy would work just as well. Once his Life Attunement is taken out he's got no chance, not like he hurts anyway

I was killing this guy again earlier for the sake of it (Frenzy wasn't quite as smart as it seemed

). Didn't matter a jot vs Ghouls, even with Frenzy up they hit for 0 fairly often.

I did have some amusing times fighting hte other groups going round there.

Ran upto a load of casters
Ghouls appear, instantly get blinded, weakened and barbs appears on me. Within 10 seconds i'm dead.

Same again with a smaller group
Held on for slightly longer but still couldn't hit anything (damn that infernal blind!)

I'd say its worth going just to get surrounded by 15-30 Ghouls and use JI + Cyclone Axe to deal about 200 to each.

killed him about 8 times, first run got a 6-27 req. 8 white sephis axe, all the rest were like 103 gold.

pretty fun too kill a lvl 30 boss in about 10 seconds though lol. too bad sephis axe's aren't too high of demand with most of them selling between 10-25k unless you happen to get like a req. 7 15 ^50

I did that yesterday. You dont tell what skills your using. As mine were different. And he drops gold for me. Nothing new. Fight a boss that people talk about dropping something good and its gold lol. Go figure.

Thanks. You're absolutely rightwith regard to the W/N build. I had Dolyak + Watch Yourself as I didnt bother pulling the Rotscale away from his friends, just killed him and then started on his Bone Dragon collegues.

He can drop gold Sephis Axes, and since I received a purple Dead Bow from him before, I have reason to believe he has the potential to drop gold ones too.

Managed to get a +30hp bow grip and a gold dead staff and a couple of gold dead bows from Rotscale and his cronies, by running to the nearby portal you can reset the area real quick to try again if your drops arent up to much . Another thing not sure if its relevant but for me drops seem to be of a higher value when favour wasnt with me. Dunno if this makes any difference but it might be worth a try. Also i agree aggro'ing a huge group of graspers is pretty cool.. Still waiting on that max dmg sephis axe tho, its why i farm there in the first place....

I first started killing Rotscale back in September, and occasionally I still do, but the first time i ever killed him, I got a req 9 Max rare sephis axe. Was 19% while below 50%, but still, that means that there is potentially a 15^50 that could drop from him. Just thought I would share.

I love Rotscale!
yesterday, I got my first gold sephis axe ! after 3 runs and each run about 2 - 3 rerolls !
it was req 13...but oké, i could live with that...after unid, my hartbeat tripled ! i saw damage +15%
and the second after that while hexed

it also was ebon and had a perfect axe mastery mod on it...
but hey, it's a great start, I mean, got my first one after 1.40 mins ...so I'm realy gonna keep farming him, and maybe one day i'll get a req 8 ( or even a req 7 ) 15^50 sephis axe !

so at everybody who hasn't got any good drops : keep farming him ! he does drop them !

oh, and here's a tip: If you got favor, talk to balthazar, and do the first thingy, that'll give you +25hp and +3 regen...that was nothing new, but here's the best thing about it : use a manlinons shield...with that thing, you will have 555hp always, even with a sup axe !

got 3 golds: 1 from a hammer, 15/-5 , 1 from the warrior boss, good hammer with 20% ench and a fire staff from a bone dragon with a +30hp on...
all non max, so salvaged them...only got the 20% ench mod

it's weird, all the golds drop there have good mods !

I think the reason for that is due to the less AL that players have in that region, causing a dmg reduction in boss dmg's.
