I pre-ordered like a month ago, but I must say,I really don't want to make the Transition to Cantha yet... >< So many things to explore, which can be fun, but there isn't really thing appealing other than new visuals..... Makes you feel kind of left behind hanging back in Tyria...I also hate the fact that I need to take all my characters through the Factions campaign, I just might take X only and leave everyone else on their butts in Tyria. Anyone else have feelings similar to this?

I enjoy exploring new areas. I'm pretty sure I have every map completely explored on Phaern. So as much as I have enjoyed the past 6 months of farming, I'll be happy for the change.

I placed $10 down to preorder two copies of Factions, one for each of my accounts. I will be playing in the head-start. However, I for one will not be purchasing Factions until something is done to resolve the "you can buy character slots, but cannot merge existing accounts" bullshit ArenaNet has now put out. For that reason, you wont be the only one still playing in Tyria.

The only thing I'm not terribly excited about is my imminent search for a guild to join, because that seems to be the only way I'll get the most out of what Factions has to offer. I've held off on joining a guild up 'til now because there are just too many junk ones to sift through, and I didn't want to waste the time trying to find one that isn't just a PUG in disguise.

I felt bored in the past few months becasue I am lazy to farm gold or get a rank 12 emote so I don't have anything to do but hanging around, now factions light my hope again and I feel excited becasue I will have alot of skills to unlock and characters to develop.

I'm looking forward to seeing how everything plays out as in how new characters start, how/where current character transfers take place, and what the newest rarest weapons and materials are gonna be.

I'm not looking forward to being a newbie again! =(

At first, back when I preordered...I wasn't really all that excited. But as Factions gets closer, I am starting to get a bit excited for it, now.

Looking forward to starting a new character (still didn't decide what I'm gonna choose), exploring new stuff, new skills, new quests, weapons...yeah, I AM starting to get excited for Factions. I'm not worried at all about having to start over, or having to move my characters to Cantha. And I don't have to worry about storage problems, as it is my fate to be eternally not-wealthy, lol.

So no, there's nothing that I'm worried about, or not looking forward to. I'm just for the most part, hyped up for the release.

Exploring new areas & new missions/quest - yes! Looking forward to it.

The "factions" aspect of the game, don't care for the concept at all.

The Assasin character: Sorry, played one for about 30 minutes in the preview and grew a strong dislike for it.

The Ritualist: Promising, may be seeing quite a bit of the nerf bat. But I'm gonna give this one a try.

To be honest. I'm 50/50, I really like starting fresh; Having a new character in pre-searing was my favorite part of Guild Wars. But then theres the rush, the pressure; so many things to be first at. In this other game I played called R.Y.L. I was the first priest to surpass level 85 (15 levels away from 100) and the plubicity was great. But, I'm not really sure if that attention is worth skipping a quest or not going in a zone because I have no need to. I suppose I'll just sit back and enjoy the game, let someone else have a chance to shine in the spotlight.

I'm thinking the same as you, X, I might just play through everything with one of my characters and get all the stuff rather than go through it all with all four at first. However, I will be creating a new character to see the Canthan Pre-Searing equivalent and early storyline - I haven't decided which of Ritualist or Assassin yet.

I think the main enjoyment of the game for me will be just like in Guild Wars:
  • Being new, exploring and finding out things
  • Playing through a storyline not knowing what's coming next
  • Finding items to use and sell, and building up a stock of materials, weapons, armour and gold
  • Experiencing the skills and style of the professions
  • Building up a character with armour, weapons, experience and skills (rewarding and satisfying)
  • Playing with others, teamwork and getting to know people

But also, I'm really looking forward to the Factions aspect. Though there were faults in the Alliance Battles, I found them enjoyable. I loved being in a large team and fighting across a large map for control of different points.

So, yeah, I'm looking forward to it. I must say, I'm not extremely excited... but hey, I didn't even know Guild Wars had been released until a friend told me, I had forgotten about it after reading a preview months before.

I can't say I'm really excited about the new classes, though before the FPE I was. That may change once I start one from scratch and level it up. What I am excited about is exploring new areas. I've done pretty much everything I can over four chars. I've farmed and explored to pass the time until Factions is out. Now I'll have new areas to play in.

I'm super hyper extremely excited. If I could be anymore excited I'd explode. After playing the FPE weekend I'm convinced that Factions is gonna be great. Not only is the game is just simply generally better and more polished than Prophecies, but the new features and missions sounds like a lot of fun.

I'm not THAT excited. But I am looking forward to exploying a new land with my Ranger and trying the new classes.

What I'm not looking forward to in a massive increase in the price of items, farming spam and whole new places where my Ranger is not welcome.

So good thing I'm bringing my W/Mo farmer for the ride as well.

generally speaking its the PvP pureists that are not all that excited about Factions. sure it expands their skill list and gives them a new alliance battle feature, but to most of them they don't like randomness and fairness in play. if they can't Dominate with some cookie cutter build they don't like it. and as far as new explorable areas, they don't like that either as most PvP pureists still to this day have not finished the fire islands missions.

I'm personally glad they gave them their little Battle Isle, Now if I want to deal with the likes of them I can, but if I don't its really easy to avoid them now... And the same goes for them not wanting to see people that play PvE.

Now if we could just do something to get rid of the dam spammers... Maybe a commerce Isle? lol JK don't give in to those mooks to give them any such thing... Make their lives as miserable as possible and NO ONE buy from them, and gee wis sooner or later they will go the hell away. If anything I hope they make the ignore list larger cause its filled at this point on my account.

I think the one really nice thing is that it will bring more PvE explorers into Alliance battle PvP at the very least. Possibility more GvG battles too. I think HA will however still suffer from its on going discrimination issues. Not much can be done about that. Its just unfortunate is all. and if anything factions makes the gulf and discrimination between players even worse as time goes on, as now you will not only have to be a rank 6+ to get in a group but have hero status or something like that... We will see...

To be honest I am not really looking forward to factions. I was very much more excited when the first guildwars was released. I'm sorry, but the beta weekend of Factions didn't impress me enough. Still, let's just wait and see before we judge it

I agree. No offence to anyone, but I completely disagree with the people who shout out "Level rank6+". How are people even going to get better, if they can't find a group to practice with?

I bet when all the rank6+ people where low level, they weren't happy being rejected from groups because of rank. By all means, they have there rights. But just think about what Guildwars pvp may turn into, next time you shout "Rank 6 + only!"

I was regretting even pre-ordering, until the addition of new slots per pay was announced, and then began to get excited about it again, until they tell me I might not even have the CE I ordered until mid-may..now I just wish I had followed my gut feeling from the start and left factions, and gw, be. It's going to have to take a miracle to keep my interest in factions and the game as a whole if my package doesn't arrive before the grace is up. I'm becoming more disinterested by the day. I don't really feel up to taking 4 existing characters through a whole new bunch of stuff, and I certainly don't want to bring 2 new characters back to prophecies to get all those skills and such.. bleh

I was excited and still am dying for some new content. But with that being said... i'm less and less thrilled with what i'm finding as far as having to join a guild and having it impossible to do quests and stuff unless you're in a guild ect... of course I reserve judgement but any new content is a plus in my book. If anything I'll create a Ritualist and bring over to Tryia... and wait for the third one ^^

But right now i'm 50/50

Not excited, but am looking forward to taking my ranger through Cantha as he did everything possible in Tyria and since xmas it's been pretty boring just doing the same things over and over, so new areas to explore will be nice although the two new character choices are less than inspiring so I can't see me bothering starting a fresh with either of them.

i am quite excited about it enough that i actually went and requested a 3 day paid leave from work. Lol. I think that is enough evidence for how excited i am.

I am not really in GVG or even PVP or such but i feel that i will like it with factions. Reason why i cant stand both is the fact that since i got a job.... i cant spend my time doing nothing and waiting for my friends to form up a GVG game. I admit i am a complete novice at it but if we can get the wait time down to minutes hey im all for it
