if you think i am going through all those interviews/posts/chats you are........... however there is a recent post in the dev thread where Alex Weekes mentions the empty slots will be available when technical problems are worked out.
compare a single empty slot they are having problems with to a full loaded account and make your own conclusions as to the other

Every new thing they add in, they got to make sure everythings is working good especially if it involve payments & account. They got to test with bug & security measurement.
If u think that anet cant make the account merge, u r really underestimate thier programmer.

I see you are getting ready for Nightfall by adding a scroll feature to the login. Also, it is said you will allow us to buy extra slots for 9.99 each in the near future. How about creating a feature that allows us to merge our extra accounts? Many of us have extra accounts because we needed more characters for mules and whatever. How about letting us merge those into one?

well this really seems like alot of work. They aren't going to bother having to do this manually, so it would require some sort of way-out program to be able to handle such transferes with no errors.
I hope someone had mentioned that, because its 5 pages in this thread... and im lazy^^.

If they can't merge accounts, they could create a clone copy from another account characters to the first account and then delete the another account. However, your another account's storage should be empty before doing such things.

Using two copies of GW was necessity for me. I've been using one for PvE, the other for PvP. And there simply was not enough character slots.
Now there is an option to buy extra character slots, and I would really like to have all my stuff in one account. I would like to keep my PvE characters, and add my PvP characters to the same account.
Actually PvP characters are not that important as I can always recreate them. Problem is with transfering my Fame/Rank and my unlocks.
I wouldn't mind loosing the PvP acount. I would be willing to pay reasonable price to actualy do so, as long as my account based titles would be transfered to my PvE account.

I had bought the CE for Factions and stupidly created a new acct, instead of adding to the one i had.. So I had to buy another factions to put on my main acct, and then nf came out. bought this CE which i put this time on my main and another one for the second acct - the 2nd acct usually sets for a couple months not doing or loan to guildies so that they can try either factions or nightfall.. Would I like the merger?, heck yeah just so i could have my back up dancers.. will it happen? Nope, for the reasons given above. *sighs* I don't care if i get the items on the second acct, nor the extra slots (for i have a total of 13 slots on my main acct, yep I bought the extras when they came available), just the dances..

While I wouldn't use it, I think there are many people that would absolutely love it. This is also one of the very few things that actually are fair to be sold for $ (i oppose most of micropayments ideas but this is really reasonable)
