Factions question

i didnt play the preview event so i have no clue about this.
if i merge my prophecies and factions accounts (pre ordered today from e.b.) will i be able to put new armor on my prophecies campaign characters?
i did check guild wars site and after reading for awhile trying to awnser tis for myself i got tired of reading. lol ty for awnsering me
