I was wondering if there is any difference between the different types of Gold Armors (Avicara vests, Titan armors, Ettin pauldrons, etc).
Do the different types have better or worse chances in revealing a superior rune, or any specific types of runes? (for example does a Monk gold armor have a better chance of revealing a monk rune)?
Also, does the armor value (40 is max I believe) make any difference?
Or is any gold armor just the same as any other gold armor?
Thanks

The armor value, I believe just affects how much gold it would sell for at the trader after being IDed. I think different types of monsters armor tends to drop different types of runes. I'm not sure the specifics. When I used to farm the ettins back before their drops got pwned I remember they seemed to have a greater chance to drop warrior or mesmer runes, at least when a gold armor dropped. But any type of armor has a chance to contain any type of rune I believe, because I got all sorts of different kinds of runes from those ettins.

I dont have enough data points to say for sure myself, but some people think the armor level may indicate the rune level yes. I got a 33 gold armor from executioner and it was a superior.... so who knows.

The AL of the armor doesn't effect anything except the price the merchant will buy it for. It's the color("quality") of the drop that determines what type of rune may be salvaged. The same way you can get a perfect sword pommel of fortitude off a 13-19 damage gold sword.
As for the level of the monster that dropped it, I don't have strong data one way or the other, but it seems the higher level monster the greater chance of a superior rune(but like I said, limited data so it's possible not to have any effect on it at all).
As for the specific type of armor giving a rune for that profession, the data I have strongly suggests that it is totaly random on what type of rune you'll get.

It's been my experience that monster class has no effect on rune types dropped. I've also noticed that on purple drops, there's about a 50/50 chance that you'll get a major rune. On gold drops, it seems to be about only a 25- 30% chance of a Superior rune coming out.
