I feel a little guilty, because I took a gamble and bought an unid req 8 off a really nice guy in Droks while I was trying to sell my 20%<50 Fellblade. For 35k...

lol... well that's his fault not yours... he could have id'd it, imo most unids are a rip... very nice find lucky he wasn't a tester

yep you can test unid's, figure out what they are before ID'ing them, that's what most people do now... to rip off people... but you got lucky

Heh - guess so. We (my family) probably deserved a little good luck, having thrown away a little McDonalds sticker that would have made us £100,000...... We had no idea at the time that a little Mayfair sticker on a McD Shake cup could have been worth so much.

Erm.... if (IF) I sell this, how the heck do I get 500k odd reliably from someone? 100,000 + lots of ectos or something? Or is there someone providing a third party service that guarantees both sides? I forget what that sort of arrangement is called...

Some people offer to be the third party for a large trade such as this one. Personally I would not use a third party just because you can't always be sure they are really on the up and up. Ectos and Shards are commonly traded so long as a value is agreed upon before the trade.

True, true... I come from a long line of a family that has trusted too much...

For trades over 100k most people use ectos, shards, sapphires.... materials like that.. mostly ectos... for this with ectos around 6k trade price, you'd get like 100k and 70-75 ectos or more...
