New "Titles" system

Yes and it's just so much fun to not only cap every elite, but cap every elite for every single character, even those that don't make any sense, particularly all those useless ones in primary skills of other classes too!
/sarcasm off
Reward/title for things sane people would actually do IMO
And aren't I more the PvEr having used more characters to do more, rather than one? Meanwhile PvP rewards go cross-account, and last time I looked you could do a lot of serious GvG w/o touching HoH and fame.
Anyways I'll reserve more judgement until we see this beast at release.

I have to say i like this idea too. I would to have anciet for being around since beta :P
Diablo???
They should've just saved the trouble and make only two titles for everyone:
either L33T or N00B. See how people feel about that.

I also was in a heavy GvG/hardly any HoH guild. I don't see a title speaking to that yet so you'll still have the same problem. Unless I missed a title based on faction or GvG wins... |

There are a total of 160 elites for all the proffessions combined..(with the factions released 20 for each of the 8 classes)
and since you can change your secondary proffession at any time after you do the quests to do so...you can use all the elites you want....
the kickers is: some will be less efective if they belong to a primary attribute of another proffession:
Ex: Spell breaker (uses Divine favor) so non monks will only get a 5 second benifit out of it....
But that's not the point , the point is to say you did it!
And yes they have titles for the PvP stuff: don't worry....even though the PvE'r still get jipped on rank and fame....which is why it would have been fine with me if titles where a PvE only sort of thing.
ANET LISTEN:
PVE"RS WANT THEIR OWN SPECIAL THING THAT PVP CANT GET....EITHER THAT OR GIVE THEM ACCESS TO A WAY OF EARNING RANK AND FAME....EVEN MY 7 YEAR OLD CAN SEE IT"S NOT FAIR.....
I used my rank emote, and my seven year old daughter asked how she could get one....she never does pvp and does not like it...I told her it was for pvp only and she was like:
"Well that's not ver fair now is it, do I get anything special?" She Said
I said "No."
She Said. "Well that's not fair."
I said "Yeah I know."

For instance one time this guy told me he was a Rank 2 and I was like: meh ok so long as you know what to do. We ended up fighting the altar map with the rez orb. The idiot runs up, picks up the rez orb then drops it on the ground (despite him being a warrior). This occurence isn't isolated, the number of low ranked players demonstrating this kind of idiocy has forced me to impose rank limitations (I'm rank 11 but I accept as low as Rank 3 people now but nothing less).

One thing you have not though of yet. What if a person unlocked every single skill through PvE before the Balth Faction came out? He would perhaps only be able to get a max of, say, 30000 faction. However, he is now a hardcore PvPer, and among the best. Yet, he cannot gain more than 30000 faction.
Do you see where I am going? A faction title is NOT a good idea, since there is a cap; I, for example, capped at 113.500 faction. So I, for example, will likely never be able to get a, say, 500.000 faction title.

I wish you had the option of custom titles.

is this title system retro active?

I think its a cool idea because it gives people something to work for besides how much gold they can get. I do aggree it will bring the HA eliteism to PvE, wich I don't like. Its not that I am worried about it because my chars prolly have enough of a lot of things to get some good titles but im not a group former. I like to join them and if I can I help noobs anytime I can. My mission is not to keep noobs a noob because I cant take 15 mins of the double digit hours I spend playin to give them a word of advice. If all of you rank 3,4,5,6,7,8,....... all decided to form a group and take 1 or 2 nubs a day for 3 runs in HA they would be far less abundant.

i dont see why it would promote elitism when u can turn them on and off and pick which one 2 show.. seems a lot more effort to get someone to change the title so u can see it then it is to jus get people to flash their emote, and it doesnt equate to anything in terms of ur skill especially as they are player and not account based (*i think*).. personally ill be doing what ive always done and take whoevers goin, if we fail a mission we fail if not its all good

i see alot of people complaining about elitism or title requirements. the reality is that some of this will happen no matter what rewards exist in the game.
some will require a certain lvl(as if a lvl 20 is sooo much more powerful than a lvl 19) others will require rank, others now will require titles.
for those that care that much about having the "best" group possible, they'll keep doing it whatever the system is, but honestly, i think most people in the game don't really care or don't care enough to really be a problem. a good group of well coordinated rankless, title-less, lvl 19s are better than a ego filled disorganised group of champions anyday.
so really, go for the titles if you want, or if you don't like them, ignore them, but worrying about elitism is silly because i still think most people get over it pretty quick

Titles are intended to give players recognition for extraordinary achievements. Some titles are associated with a player's account, such as "champion," which recognizes your achievements in guild-versus-guild combat |
I am the only one who thinks these new "titles" are good so people won't judge you JUST by your rank.
I'm guessing there are more then just those examples used so relax and wait and see what we get.

Just another useless faction title that noobs that got the game will never be able to get like myself, oh well, atleast the concepts nice

Not sure I like the PvP titles. IMHO they should have used the ones from 'Elite'

About time rank 5 and rank 3 get a different title. (same for 6/8, but that's less annoying) Have you ever noticed how every IWAY noob with a bambi claims to be r5?
Well, now you'll get a title that says you're not. GG.

you can get a title for being drunk for 1000 minutes. talk about easy.

I'm disappointed in the title system by 2 things:
1. I think 90 is way too high of a number for an initial title for gettting elite skills. 50 or 60 makes much more sense to me (for an INITIAL title) - as you'd have to change secondaries even to get that many.
2. The title attached to mission completitons is dependant upon completing ALL bonus missions along with the primary missions. I would think that it should be a two-tiered title, one for all Missions & then another for all Bonuses. (After all, there should be something more of a reward for completing the story line than a free trip from Hell's Precipice to Droknar's Forge!)

Ok i'm just drinking now to pass the time till i go out. The ingame timer really does suck.
Comparing Windows' clock to the drunken timer. Every minute you spend drunk is compared to 2 minutes IRL. So not only are you spending well over 200k to get this title, its going to take about 34hours.

Second: Capping every elite actually isn't such a bad idea. You never know when someone comes up with an AWESOME build which works like a charm, but that features the most absurd elite as its backbone. Hey! Maybe even YOU will come up with a build like that some time!

PvE is quite easy, and if you look at the PvP Rank system, it's way harder to get to Rank 12 or even 9 then getting something like this completed. It takes time, but that's what most true PvE'ers want; a time taking goal in PvE.
Eet GnomeSmasher
Again I say they should add in a title for number of deaths!! I want to show everyone how much I suck and died.

As for what true PvE'ers want, I can safely say AS ONE, that goals that take time are all well and good, but ones that bog a person down get to be a drag & hardly worth the effort.
