I have been thinking about the day of the tengu situation and of the old benefits such as pumpkin heads, santa hats, horns of grenthy, and the CE lights that display when emotes are used. I was thinking that since not everyone can get preorders or buy the CE, or once they bought one ce, but buy a 2nd account, they would like to have the lights on the 2nd account but cant, I was thinking that they could be earned. Now, some will say I paid extra to get the CE, others didnt, they shouldnt get the lights on their hands. I can see that argument, but I bought the CE, but I have recently purchased an account from a guy I know, he had bought the regular edition, so now I have no lights on my 2nd account. What I was thinking was making it so that if someone who missed an event or did not get the CE for some reason, they can still get it, but they have to do something to earn it. For example, I think being a King's Hero would qualify for anet dubbing said account with the lights upon the hands, and with the customized items on all of said persons characters. I dont mind, since anet would make the req. very difficult, in fact, most probably wouldnt bother. But it still would be available. Reason I say this is that 1- I only got the santa hat and horns of grenth on one character during wintersday, my warrior, when I would have liked to have gotten them on all of my characters. In fact, I dont think they had the event going long enough to get it on more than 3 characters. 2- I have the second account, and I would like to see those characters have the light effect, but cant, but would like to somehow be able to earn it by doing something in-game. 3- I ordered the pre-order for factions, but there is a chance I wont get it in time, and if I dont, I will be pissed at them for getting me to spend 22 bucks, 6.99 + express shipping, just so they can make a little extra money, and screw over those who didnt need to get the pre-order. I know I didnt, but with the day of the tengu, I must. But if I miss it, 1- since I did buy the pre-order, they should extend the time so that those who didnt get the pre-order by this thursday can still get their masks BECAUSE THEY DID BUY THE PRE-ORDER, AND THEY SHOULD GET THE FRICKIN BENEFITS OF IT! SERIOUSLY, if you are going to make benefits for the pre order people, you should make sure they get to enjoy the benefits. anyway, the masks would be just another reason to make it so that if certain req.s are met, one can get everything. Also, I think anet should auto put in Santa hats and Horns of grenth on all characters that did manage to get one on wintersday, but only for one character, in essence, those who were there get what they should have gotten, and those who werent still miss out, unless they want to do something to earn them, or wait til next year and hope anet offers them again. For those who say if you bought it or were there, you are the one to get it, not anyone else. I think that it should be if you buy it, it means you dont have to do really hard quests/missions/pvp to get it, essentially, you pay for it or took the time to be at an event, and now get to sit back and watch the unlucky and/or poor toil and slave away to get what you spent a little extra money or time to get. The reasons for all this, everyone has a reason for playing this game, one of mine is that I compulsively must have all the skins that are in the game, and only then can I sit back and go exploring and screenshot taking, or pvping. I also think the pve price of skills should be dropped to at the highest 500 each. But anyway, my thoughts, doubt they will be implemented but there is always hope, just like there is always hope that anet will realize forcing players to spend 100s of hours trying to earn enough to get fow goes against their statement that guild wars is about skill, not time spent. I think fow should be obtained by completing so much of the uw + fow so many times, then one can do the forgemaster quest and get ones armor. essentially, every quest completed guarantees the participating party member an ecto or shard (depending on whether in uw or fow), so that players can KNOW how long it will take to get fow. And THAT, would indicate skill, both in being able to do the uw and fow quests, and have enough friends to do it with, which is an achievement since I have no friends within, oh, a couple hundred miles of me, and beyond that, not many. And, already thinking ahead, if necessary to prevent over farming a certain quest, it wouldnt be the early quests of uw and fow that would drop ecto and shards, only later ones, even though I would think people would get bored of just doing the first uw quest over and over and spending 1k each time. but anyway. My thoughts, flame it as you will, but you know I am right. The only thing that should be unobtainable to the common player is the gold trim on the cape earned by tournament winners, and the high Hero or Explorer Rank earned through doing pve or pvp. There are some things that one must earn, and people should be able to earn things they missed out on. The End.

Enter key ftw, I believe it's a rant about factions, but it just gives me a headache now.

Added random blank lines, so we might all continue reading this. (I was getting curious to what it said:

So basicly you're saying that if you went to the event, took the time to get the items for all your characters it would have been time wasted, since you can get them in other ways at any given time?

And if you didn't bother to spend the extra money on a CE (or got it in time), you could still reap the benefits of it?

And if you didn't bother to put in the time for a FoW armour, you can still get it? Even if this is the only thing in PvE which you have to put time towards (and a lot) to get? Even if it improves nothing towards the game, except for the look of your character?

Basicly, you're saying that laziness should be made easier to get all the best in the game?

So /notsigned.

Im all for ArenaNet adding in special features for various acomplishments - although in a way, they are already doing just that with the titles, but the features should NOT be those gotten for pre-order, collectors, ect.

Account based features such as those should become available with merging accounts, as ArenaNet SHOULD implement, but otherwise should be exclusive to those who wanted it, and therefore payed what was required to get it.

As for date-based things, they should extend the duration of the day of tengu another day or two, but only available for preorders, for situations like yours, but they should still only be available for the characters that where there at the time.

Oh, and use "enter" next time - if not for Gonzo, I would not have read past the third sentence.
