Ettin farming nerfed?

Explore. There are many places to farm. I used to share things like that with others, but found out it's a lot like fishing. Tell enough people about your "honey hole" and pretty soon everyone and their brother will be there, and the fish will be gone. Seems like that is happening a lot on GW. If enough go there and talk about it, it will be nerfed.

Grrrrr, if Factions wasn't coming out this weekend, I'd be blazing trails all over Tyria to find this spot. I wouldn't tell anyone either, but I hate not being in the know.

Well, I would sure like to be proven wrong because I just don't believe you found a location that only drops Superior armors. Whether you salvage a Superior or Major rune is based on a percentage/ratio, not what kind of monster drops it or what the armor level is. That percentage/ratio is roughly 4:1. For every Superior Rune you will salvage four Majors.

I have only my own personal data and experiences to base this information from. However, I've salvaged more armors that I can count including, Ettins, Titan, Avicara, etc., and the results are all the same. I've salvaged Superior Absorbs from a level 30 armor as well as a level 40 armor.

And yes, I have a long list of people that can confirm these numbers

Keep in mind there are bugs in this game. I don't know if that is what this is or if my luck is really good. They character I'm using was created with a very good seed. Let me put it this way I've found more sup absorptions than vigors with this character.

I usually find between 2-6 sup runes a day at the spot. Other than that I'm salvaging rare materials.

Ettins have been dead to me for about 7 months now. Me and my brother discovered them back in june or august. Farmed there till it got really popular. After that we started coming out with less and less. Our drops were fine until the rest of GW showed up and drops were lowered overall.

If you think ettins are good now you should have seen back then.

Agree that armor lvl means absolutely nothing. My first rune was a sup abosorption from a lvl 10 monster. Still have that run because it has blue text and a minor skin. Been pondering on how much that would be worth now. For some reason it didn't get converted when the skins were changed.

Wintersday was the best. Superior vigors and absorbtions like snowflakes falling from the sky.

i know a nice unnerfed place where lots of runes drop. not as fast as ettins but other golds can drop there too. got a few perf mods but i dont do it anymore as i have little need for any more gold.

IT does seem different since the update last night... the camps are gone, there's more ettins... and in three runs, I got one minor soul reaping. Not even a purple... I've never seen it so poor.

Got 2 Sup Vigors, one Abs and 2 Protection in 5 days, Ettins are still good for me

I have yet to see any significant drop in the quality of ettin farming. They still drop rare pauldrons for me and, if anything, the other day I noticed really good spawns with like 4 groups of 3 in NKP and then at least 5 groups of 3 in Nebo.

I'm seeing "the other day", "in the last few day" and other such comments. How many of you have tried ettin farming today? I've been out there twice and only got one blue pauldron. Maybe I'm the only one having this luck?

I farm ettins every day and usually I get every 2. run a golden armor. After the patch (today) I see much more tengus and got nothing. I'm sure this is not bad luck.

ettins farming is all about hit or miss. Sometime you get tons of runes, while other time you get nothing but humps or crappy items.

I'd have to say they've been nerfed.. 3 full runs and not even a blue
