seems like it's ur CPU that's overheating.......
since you checked both video card and they work fine.....
1. u might wnat to check that ur fan is running for ur cpu.
2. check ur bios settings and load a default optimize setting if u don't want to mess around with the CPU
3. download a program that will let u check ur CPU temp
(I forgot what some of the programs are called because I'm at work but I'm sure u can google something up)
let me know if u ahve more problems.....

Or just replace the ram because you said you were getting errors on it. Better yet if you have 2 sticks remove one and retest until you find the bad one. Both won't have gone bad at the same time. Then while you get a new stick you can play with just one stick.

Overheating though, I don't know... I suppose it could be your memory doing something funky (although I don't know what), but more than likely it's the video card or processor. In addition to what Hero said, you may want to try reseating your video card, checking that all the fans in your computer are working, and make sure that your heatsink has a solid hold on your CPU. Also, just because you put an "industrial" fan blowing on your computer doesn't mean that it's necessarily helping -- if you don't have enough airflow blowing that air out of your case, it could just end up compounding the problem. I doubt that's the case, but regardless you should ensure that you're maintaining good airflow throughout your box.

I have 5 fan blowin air in and out from my computer i really dont think it is my video card sice i have and X1600 pro and a FX 5500 and both of them give the same error.
My ram is not old it just have like 1 moth same as the procesor and main board, but im now thinking its my procesor unit that is not working properly.
I want to mention that i recently upgraded my computer from a 2.66 Gig to 3.0 gig soket 775 that is when the problem started when i upgraded my computer so my best guess now is that maybe the new motherboard or the procesor.
I just took my computer to a local retailer and thy probably change the mother and the pentium procesor to a AMD im kind of sick of pentium and their stuped overheating problems and issues.
