Buff Existing Sundering Greens?
BakedMonkey
Well..because of the update
Sundring is now changed from 10/10 to 20/20 as max
i think Anet should then change the existing greens to match that perfect stat as greens are meant to have "perfect" mods. If they leave it like it is now..people are going to ditch their victos and drago bows as there are now more effective sundering mods out there.

Patience is a virtue. They will probably get around to it soon enough.
Arkantos
Dont think they can do that...not sure...Dont you think they would of changed all rockmolders?
The Real Roy Keane
They changed existing Lieutenant's Helms, so I'm sure it's possible.

I had a shield that was +8 vs piercing (which was max before an update) they upgraded shields to be +10 Vs X and my shiled never changed and pretty much lost a lot of value. I doubt they'll change it.
BakedMonkey
well..greens are suppose to be "perfect" you see =p and that rockmoulder..idk what A-Net was thinking. Just thought maybe the greens with sundering mod wont be left in the dirt by the update.
Slimcea
Free bump! Don't think it will ever get implemented, but oh well, one can always hope!
Falcon213
I'm sure they will eventually change new drops to reflect the upgrade, but I garuntee existing items won't change.
As far as prices on Victo's axe, new ones would go up in price, but hopefully not too much because of the new Wing's Axe (I personally would get both).

As I said in another post, I think things that dropped as 10/10 should stay 10/10, but hear me out.
Once you get ANet to change everyones (although I HIGHLY doubt this will happen), people will start complaining to ANet to upgrade their 10/10 golds, and unused 10/10 mods to 20/20, only to make an easy buck. After all, it would only be fair, right?
20/20 is the new mod. It gives us something to farm (or in my case, refarm). If you want it, farm it, IMO.

Yeah I agree with this..my bludgeoner will just collect dust since its 10/10..
On a serious note, I don't think they should change the greens, or any items. Dunno why though...meh.

They better upgrade exsisting ones, Green "Unique" Items are supposed to be "Perfect".. thats why you never see ones with +25 fortitude.. etc..
the changes on The Rockmolder was a "nerf" where they changed the halves skill recharge from 20% to 10%.
the changes on The Lieutenants Helm was a "nerf" changing the Hex Duration from 50% to 20%.
the Change on Sundering should go into effect because the Green Items are no longer perfect for us who have them already. If they were 20% before and nerfed down to 10% then that would be fine as the would still be "perfect" in a certain point of view.
and never know, maybe Anet will care about the "economy" to upgrade existing ones as well. If they do not upgrade sundering the price of exsisting ones will go down to nothing.
Victos Axe - 10/10 = 25-30K (current) I predict about 5-10k if they don't raise.
Victos Axe - 20/20 = would be about 80-100K

I don't think it should change. No one's getting ripped off really. You payed for your axe taking into account the 10/10 mod. Many others bought the same mod for gold items and such. It's not like the 10/10 mod has gotten worse, there's just a better version of it.
Hodor
It's not a case of being ripped off. It's time, effort and gold expended on acquiring the best gear. That is all wasted and needs to be redone from scratch in many cases. A 10/10 sunder worth 40-50K yesterday, is now worth nothing.
It's relatively simple to update a database, replacing one piece of information globally. If they included that with the update, it's trivial. Now after the fact it may be more difficult if the is no timestamp with each entry, so they can determine if the item was found/brought pre/post update.
I think they should have buffed items to the new standard, perhaps even scaling non-perfect items. A 10/9 would become a 20/18, etc.
I only have a few shields affected, so it's not a huge personal aggrivation, I just consider somewhat unfair and poor planning

ANet's double-standards are running rampant again. Nerfing is universal, but buffing is selective? Get it together, guys, that's not fair.

They better f*cking do, i've got 2 10/10 sundering bow strings sat in storage doing nothing, 2 sundering greens and a sundering chaos.

Would like to see this but ......
When Anet does a buff it is usually limited to new items and not retroactive. When they do a nerf it is on all items past, present and future.

For the golds, purple and normal items, thats just the way the cookie crumbles. As for greens, they were intended to have max mods. So it should only make sense for anet to change the existing greens with the old mods and give them the new mods. It can be done.

They also screwed over the armors for people who have Dragon's and Platemail already. Sure, you can get it with 90 armor NOW, but the free upgrade to 90 from 85 comes later. Why wait? Why was this not done with the release of those patches? Poor planning ANet.

anyways, those are "n00b greens" not previously existing. check out the requirements, "5 smiting prayers" "5 marksmanship" "5 air magic" etc... no weapon that requires 5 is going to have "perfect mods"
Evilsod
I don't really see how the hell it can be so difficult for them to change things. Surely if they can change skills all the damn time they can figure out how to change AL of things and change bonus'

I think its more un-fair on the greens than the golds..no one ever said greens were max..they were just unique to a boss and happened to be max modded at the same time...i personally lost about 250k with the gold/green sundering update, but to be honest i dont like greens to begin with..i think if someone wants a max weapon and cant afford a cool skin with the mods they should just get the collectors and build on the mods when they can...and as for the pre existing mods...ill get over it as i think everyone else should...but...
/signed...cause i also wouldnt mind not losing 250k

Theres many rationales and comparisons to how greens have been adjusted and old ones left unchanged eg the old 20/20 rockmolder vs the new 20/10 one. But in this case it is the reverse since it resulted in a nerf of the item and old version are longer obtainable and kept in the game. But in our case, we are talking about literally thousands, possibly ten of thousands of those sundering weapons becoming sub standard over nite due to new implementations of 20/20 Sundering from 10/10. Seemingly, its similar to dragon and plate armour issue that we are facing such that the new versions are there if you are willing to rebuy it but the old sets with old stats are still unchanged in your inventory. So if there was a patch in the future that would fix existing Dragon and plate armour of exisiting characters then it is only fair and logical that the fix would also apply to existing 10/10 sundering mods on greens since new versions that are dropped are 20/20.
Phoenix Arrows
I don't care about my 10/10 15^50 +5 Armor Longbow :S...but I do want my Drago's Flatbow to become 20/20. It's not fair that people with armor get upgrades and people with weapons don't.

Come to think of it, in most cases Armour costs MUCH less than upgrades. A full set of FoW obviously is the exception but 15k armour costs about 20-25k w/ Materials. An upgrade can cost upto 150k if your dumb enough to pay what Bot Farmers want. Victos Axe when it was first out cost 100k + 30 ectos. There really is no reason to not upgrade the existing mods, or then again are they too incompetant to do so, its taking them long enough to let us boost our frigging armour, something they should've had sorted for when Factions was released!
Inquisitor
I have 200k spent on 4 10/10 sundering bow strings just for my personal collection. To get everything perfect, you know. To get that 200k is a lot of work if you're not a lame farmbot or an ebayer. Now without warning the value of that strings have dropped to what? 5k? That's a loss of 180k in my case. I /sign for buffing all sundering upgrades (It isnt that hard now is it? Just add +10%/+10%)
Navaros
Who cares about greens, I spent over 500k on gold weapons and I want those upgraded along with my 15k platemail armor which I also got scammed on due to these updates.
All this "shafting old players with expensive stuff by not updating it" is really not cool.
Anet, please fix it. It's not fair and it's not right.
