something evrybody needs to knw about EB Games

about a mounth ago I Pre-Ordered Factions from EB Games.

i gave a almost full price deposit (min required was 5$, i put in 55$), and specified that i will get the game ahead to join upfront last night. They promised me that i can pick up the CDs as soon as they call me not later then the 21st. last monday (the 24th) i call them to see whats goin on, and guess what! they tell me that they will not get the cd before friday the 28th, which is the normal release. i asked then for the cd key t login upfront, and they say: "no, it's out on the 28th"

i asked them what was the empty promise to deliver upfront and i still hear the same answer. when i said i want my cash back to just buy instant CD key from the web, and they say:"no! we already ordered, you will get it on the 28th"

IF THIS IS NOT A SCAM WHAT IS IT THEN???

never ever ever i will buy or order anything from them, and i post this so you all know where NOT to go

I went to the EB games by my house and didnt have any major issues. They didnt get the pre-order CD till like a week after I paid for my pre-order though.

Yeah, I didnt get my preorder cd til a week or so later due to them not having them til then.

i have a lot of game stores near were i live, so i called one after another till i found one that had the pre-order cd in the store. that way this wouldnt happen. just some advice for next time.

I got the same thing. Apparently, to them, "pre-order" means "reserve copy." They assume you just want to hold a normal copy for when it comes in, not a special pre-order. We both got mucked, so you're not alone. :/

They have been terrible about this kind of thing. I know the store in the Eaton's Centre was very unhelpful, and the staff were truly uninterested in finding out any information when I asked. There were a lot of complaints about the chain when the pre-order was announced, I think Gaile said she would look into it.

Same thing happened to a guy in my guild. EB games is clueless.

Not so much clueless, probably there info doesn't get around there stores fast enough.

One thing: Patience is a Vertue. Tomorrow guys, just wait for one day again and we'll get it. Just remember many players wont get it during 27-28th april. Just the meaning you will get it anyway like others.

i went to the store near Decarie boulvard, near metro namur! bad service, not helpful,

and consider this, i SPECIFIED that i will get it upfront and they said yes!

Two of the guys in my guild did the same thing. Ordered from EB only to find out they won't have the game until Friday when the rest of us who were planning to buy it this weekend get it. Sucks for them.

My suggestion to NCsoft and Anet is that when it comes time to does this all over again for Chapter 3 they should change the use of the word "Pre-Order" so there is less confusion. Many players were confused but the worst confusion seems to be with Retailers and what they think "pre-order" means.As mentioned above, many stores thought pre-order meant the same as "reserve-copy".

I suggest that for Chapter 3 they change the naming from pre-order to Head-start. Then they can talk about a head-start package, or a head-start key or whatever instead of pre-order.

I has similiar problems with em, but I just put down 5 bucks and when they couldnt deliver I told em to suck it and went to Best Buy.

What you should do:

-Call GameStop/EB Games Customer Service @ 1-800-883-8895
-Navigate the menu to speak to a representative about an order you placed.
-Have your receipt/order # available.
-Tell them you pre-ordered Guild Wars Factions (supply order#/receipt number) and you were supposed to get an Early Access key.
-Tell them you went to the store and the clerk would not give you a key or a refund.
-Ask them to open a bonus kit and give you a key over the phone or demand a refund.
-If the latter, go to Best Buy on Friday and purchase Guild Wars Factions.

I spoke to EB Games/GameStop (they merged) support a couple times regarding my bonus kit. The agent I spoke to seemed more than willing to open up a bonus kit and give me the key over the phone. In fact her exact words were, "We have a lot of them in the office, if you don't receive it in time, just call back and I'll give you one over the phone."

Don't let the clueless store clerks scam you. Let EB Games GameStop HQ know about it. Give them the store # and if applicable, clerk's name. Refusing a refund is pretty shady.

I just called my local EB games and was told the same thing, "not avialable until tomorrow".
I thought one of the reasons to Pre-order, was so that I could play 24 hours in advance??
Am I wrong? I have 3 Pre-orders one for myself and my 2 boys.

Like I've already said, you guys need to STOP dealing with the store clerks making minimum-wage who really could care less. If they DON'T give you an early access key and won't refund your money, you need to call EB Games/GameStop Support (it takes 2 minutes to speak to someone), and request that they give you the keys over the phone. If they won't or don't have anymore, demand a partial refund or a full refund, and just go buy the games elsewhere. And if I were you, I wouldn't shop at EB Games/Gamestop again.
