Stop this prejudism!

I noticed that the fine world of tyria is filled with prejudice people.
Like last time in the random arena i was with my ranger who weilded a sword and had a Dire Strider(moa bird) named Cat. With this i killed a mesmer after that he said: Noobed by a moa bird! (he failed to notice that i single handedly killed him in less than 4 seconds) so i said: noobed? lol. For me the conversation was over but he continued by calling me noob and such. so i said: man, im the most experienced around here. he replied: no one with a french name can call himself experienced. This simple minded person really was as smart as a peanut as he didn't know my name wasn't french at all, it was Dutch. The build i had was great, after him i killed another mesmer in less than 4 seconds aswell, even tho they had a monk in their team that was still alive and not even under that heavy fire. Because i weild a sword and have a pet doesn't mean im a noob nor that its a bad build. This lack of vision is disturbing yet Tyria is filled with people that think exactly the same. He ended up on my ignore list so basicly i won this verbal battle but the war against prejudism continues!

On topic, though: Yeah, there is way too much prejudice going on in GW. There's this stupid mentality in the game that makes people think that the only thing that works is your average cookie-cutter build and things that EVERYONE ELSE uses. It's been getting on my nerves more and more lately.

Having local chat active in the RA is just asking for a dose of stupidity. 9/10 the people in RA aren't worth enough to dignify a response so I normally uncheck Local chat before I start.

Also, a lot of Americans (especially in ToA) have been saying things about Europeans in general purely becuase they manage to maintain the favor for most of the day which in turn keeps Americans (as well as other countries) out of UW and FoW. I wouldn't be surprised if his remark was based on that in some way or another.

Or he could just be a racism simpleton.

I don't think it's going to stay that way.

Reason why:
Gw comes out, it's 1 game, cookie-cutter build's

GW:F comes out, things start to get muddled, you will have more "effect like builds" aka a play style but not "exact skills" and some cookie-cutter builds

GW(3) things really start to get "muddled" due to you can't force or assume there going to have xyz, people will get yelled out for have c1 and c3 but not c2 as a reaction for a time.

GW(4) Can NOT depend on have a player with xyz, too many variables, fall back to a specific job style with far greater control of how you play it as long as you pull it it off w/o being yelled at

GW(5) oh "wow you have skills from C1" ...

Think magic the gathering once there was enough "base" and expansions out there you had styles of deck but no way of knowing or being able to expect certain cards.

Not only that C2 new players (no matter if they get C1 or not) will grow in numbers and fight the "old standard" and there doing to do things there way.. you may have two "sets" of cookie-cutter builds c1 versions and c2.. but once you get C1,C2,C3,C4....

Now a future complaint will be "why can't we use faction points to unlock other chapter skils.. it's not fair (whine)".

There's plenty of anti-American prejudice too. That's just life, if you can't handle it you need thicker skin.

Thats why GW PvP = boring. Your cookie cutter builds get old very quick... RA is only decent Pvp but its only 4 v 4

There's plenty of prejudice in real life, I'm pretty sure there's going to be plenty in a game that's played by people from real life. People think what they want to think, and that's all there is to it.

Some people may be partly prejudice because of issues like America never holding favor (IWAY can't hold halls for crap) but I think a lot of it just comes down to world politics and the way people have brought up. Especially with the whole war on Iraq thing I think there have been a lot of anti-American feelings going around and in turn Americans have become prejudice against many political opponents on this issue (France is a major one).

But the war against using actual words still continues.

Can I go out on a limb here and say that I think that, to a certain extent, diversity fuels prejudice?

There've been a lot of threads on this subject, particularly since the inclusion of the Worlds at War system. Unfortunately, though, these topics never come of anything.

It basically boils down to 3 comments from various people;

1.) Racism/Nationalism/etc is undefendable, and a horrible thing
2.) Get thicker skin. It's everywhere, so you just have to adjust/ignore it.
3.) Report it if you care, don't if you don't.

If someone can think of a comment other than variations of those 3, other than a comment encouraging the use of further deragatory remarks, then I'd be genuinely amazed.
However, I have to highly doubt there really are any other options, for the sole reason that we can't do anything as players by our own hands. The only people who can act on this is Anet.

Unfortunately, these topics tend to break out into wars between #1 and #2, and #3 is ignored. So, I'm just going to close this. If you have issues, take screenshots, and provide detailed information along with the screenshot to http://support.plaync.com/ .

Otherwise, it's just rehashing the same old arguments, and the same old wars. If anyone has anything to say not already covered in this post, and you feel it's a necessary inclusion, you can always PM.
