but... its too easy to level I think. After about 5 hours of gameplay I'm already level 14. All the quests give you about 1.5k xp which is too much as most are kinda easy.
Opinions?

In the original GW, the game was based for stages, ie pre-sear level 1-5, Ascalon level 5-10, Yak's level 10-13 etc
Factions is more geared for high end, where every quest and mission should be challenging and for that to happen the enemies are high level and you gotta be high level.
Where's the challenge for your current 2mill Xp level 20 chars with FoW armor when for 50% of the game you're gonna come up against level 5 enemies? That's the reason you get to level up so fast, so you can reach that level of PvE competition where everyone who had GW for 9+ months has worked hard to get to.

WOW!!! Serious gamer. I usually spend at least 4 hours in pre getting up to level 6-7. 3 Hours without a run? And doing quests and missions in order? You got to lvl 15?...I'm impressed.

ArenaNet also said that majority of the content in C2 is level 20, unlike C1. You can, therefore, expect the ramp from 1 to 20 to be faster in C2 than in C1.

There's more... I've done all the quests I can find at the island, and I'm lvl 15.. If I go to the mainland now, even henches are higher lvl than me, and needless to say, I get steamrolled with my puny armor from the island.

Do they intend for us to be lvl 20 when leaving the island? If so, they should really make it possible without insane grinding.

I hate grinding aswell, which is why I don't like the fact you run out of quests to do at the island around lvl 13-14, and if you go to the mainland, you get your ass kicked. I've pretty much been grinding lvl 13-15 since I can't manage to finish any quests. Mainly cause I can't find anybody to do it with since everybody is busy with grinding.

I was a bit suprised when I saw a skills trainer, storage etc etc at the very first town overall though, I'm really enjoying factions

The fast leveling is great, get us to the real content fast, and the way the two interact when you come from tyria on an ascended char is just great.

You head over, have to do a tiny quest to get to the equiv. of droknars, and that town has like 8 quests all high level, giving roughly 3k xp each, good stories, and a primary that ties tyrian chars into the factions storyline via mhenlo's former study in cantha... Brilliant.

Krusader: I think you really need to look at it as shing jea island being the pre-seaering equiv. in factions, and the main storyline only starts at 20, when you get to the mainland.

yea i heard that 3/4s of the game is meant for lev 20 chars. and thats good. one of the up-side to this game is that level shouldnt play that big of a part. and i think zooming to lev 20 wont make the game easier since the bosses will get much harder along with the hordes they run with. so now its about the tatics your team uses instead of the level of an individual.

actually i found that once i got off the monastery island (at level 13) death came far too quickly and i had to go back and level upto more, at which point leveling suddenly became too slow.
There seems to be a big lack of an area for 13-18s, its a strange jump to go from flying through levels to cursing your survivability grinding out those last few.
That second 15 point attribute quest is a real bitch and a perfect example, get used to seeing 59% dp.
