Anyone figure out how to have a tyrian character switch to a /a or /rt? thanks in advance and sorry if it is a repost (I did a quick search)

You gotta do the primary quests first of your first profession. After you've done that, the last quest guy will send you to town to talk to the second profession dude. Do some quests and you will get the second profession.

You can switch your secondary in Senjis Corner (Outpost) for 500 gold.
