Flurry Clarification

Appologies if this has already been covered. I searched around and couldnt find an answer.

The way I understand it Flurry will not decrease additional damage such as that given by a vampiric mod, however I'm unclear as to whether it will decrease the additional damage given by a warrior skill.

For instance, while Flurrying, will irresistable blow still provide +24 damage at 12 Hammer, or will that additional damage also be reduced in addition to the hammer's base damage.

Thanks

No to both. Flurry, like Enfeeble, only affects the base weapon damage. Additional damage is tacked on at the end.

This is best tested using high strength or tactics, no weapon attribute for your weapon, flurry, and a skill like Power Attack or Desperation Blow. The base damage will be about 1-2 per hit under flurry, while you'll still add on the full weapon skill damage.

The Vampiric effect is added on independently as well.

Thanks!

I asked because I was wondering if flurry would be a good complement for assassin combos where a good deal of the damage is skill based. Looks like it should have some potential.

I believe that calculations have shown that Flurry does provide a net increase in damage. And yes, only the base damage is modified, not the bonus damage from skills. Without a zealous mod you'll have difficulty mantaining a constant Flurry, if you're spamming energy skills it'll be even more difficult. Flurry is best used to help charge adrenaline attacks, and/or as a minor damage boost in PvE situations.
