The Threat Grows? What Threat?

I think the mission The Threat Grows is a bit too easy.

I picked it up, then warped to Tsumei Village, since it's closer to where I wanted to be. While there, I saw a new quest available (Cash Crops) and picked it up. I proceeded to do Cash Crops (which involves no killing), never paying any attention to the people I'm supposed to be protecting on The Threat Grows. Before I finished with Cash Crops, I beat the Threat. Without doing a single thing towards it, knowingly at least.


Not exactly how an escort mission should work....
