If I'm bored with GW, should I buy Factions?

Really, I can't decide. Will Factions renew my interest in the game or just remind me why I got tired of it? I mean, I've been playing for a year, so maybe I just need new quests and a new goomar (large-breasted ritualist). Or maybe I'll regret the fifty bucks within a week. What do you think?

I can't say very well how the game will seem to you, but I've already become bored with GW, and thats good enough reason for me. One thing I would suggest though, is trying different things in GW:F should you get it. That means if you farmed a lot of GW:P try Hoh, (not sure how/if this is even in GW:F, Im stupid) Pvp if you haven't, farming different areas, and they'll be plenty of places for that, etc etc.

turn on sarcasm mode!

I would rather buy a bucket of fry chicken than spending it for Guild Wars!

I would suggest you to try out factions first or go to friend's house to see how factions play out for you. Maybe it might suit your playing style, maybe not. It would save you the time and money incase you brought faction and got bored of it within weeks.

You should, because it has new gameplay mechanics and even if you didnt enjoy prophecies it migthve been because you finished everything already

Alliance battles are a great way to burn time. Much better than random arena, if you ask me. I'd probably be able to keep myself occupied with AB's alone, let alone the new classes, new skills, new gvg maps, etc.
