I was wondering if somone knows how to get into the kurzick and luxon city . because im in a mission near kurzick city and the gate is closed how do you open those gates so u can finaly get into the citys .

I never used a runner because i like to explore every corner of an area but i was just worried about not being able to get in a city when being so close .

A-Net probably wanted to cut down on running, but at the same time they pretty much nerfed exploration as well. I liked finding those little, out-of-the-way outposts in Prophecies (Ice tooth cave? Fisherman's haven?) and if you can't do it anymore other than following a linear main quest, I'm disappointed.

It is a major dissapointment. The exploring was half the fun. I like to just wander around and find places, but if I can't get into places, what's the point? Plus, I there's no way to distinguish places on the map that I can and can't get into yet.

I'm a little disappointed, as well. Not too bad, but it did tick me off last night...
I spent a good two hours exploring last night...ending up with -60dp in the process. Eventually I ended up finding a "portal"...only to realize that it was barred off and I couldn't proceed. Extremely frustrated, I just mapped all the way back to where I started and logged out...
I'm the type that would rather go out exploring for areas with a group of henchies, then do every mission one after the other. I found that I tend to get pretty aggrivated with the hours of trying to get a good group AND beat the harder missions. This attitude was probably brought on by my nightmares of THK.
But yeah, I'm a bit disappointed, as well.

Hmm i stil don't know how to get into luxon city (i tought i did) but i got the urn and the spear now + i did some more missions (primary) but the gates are stil not open !

there are some keeps to find that have nothing to do with the story quests. it involves a mapping quest on each section... 5 areas in 4 regions each. has a nice reward for doing it too as I recall...
the keeps and stuff are nice little out of the way places. but they dont seem to be independent map bips as of this point. maybe someday in the future some of those keeps can do something more...

I was running around the starter island, just having a relaxing half hour taking in the beautiful scenary, taking screen shot etc - I wanted to make my way to the north west of the island and came to some portals but I couldn't get through
The guard told me to "go get some more training" and I'm like WTF I'm already lvl 20!!!
I warped back to the harbour and went north from there - found lots of Yeti's and some really nasty bird me 
Strangley I managed to lure the bird men to the Yeti's and they fought each other, and when the Yeti bosses died I got the moral boost even though I was stood a fare distance away
But yes, disappointing to be hemmed in.

You can. If your guild has a guild hall then go to it and talk to one of the Alliance Battle guys. He takes you to the Alliance Battle and you can do it.

ummm.. ok... i did the kurzick and luxon missions where you have to get the 2 items, but i can't get into sunjiang.. wtf?!?!?

Do the quest "battle in the sewers" which is the quest that you get after completing the luxon mission where u get the spear. the "battle in the sewers" quest will take u to Sunjiang District which you complete and then talk to Jamei in Matu Keep for the quests "befriending luxon/kurzick".

but.. how do you make sure that your gonna be in kurzick not luxon?

Once done with Sunjiang District, take 'To Cavalon' or 'To House zu Heltzer' and go to Zos Shivros Channel (Luxon) and Altrumm Ruins (Kurzick) to access Cavalon and HzH respectively. Once inside one of the cities, you can then do Befriending the Luxons/Kurzicks which involves gathering 10k faction for which side you want, once you have 10k Luxon/Kurzick faction you can confirm your allegiance (this doesn't spend your faction).

Do you have to do all that to craft armor? I don't get a lot of online time and i've been struggling just to get to zu Heltzer (Am in Arborstone now)... do I have a long way to go still?
