So I have the Factions pre-order, and applied the key to my GW core account so I could participate in the beta weekends, etc.

I bought the full version of GW today. I have not installed it, or applied the key that game in the box. My core GW account says I have access to the extra character slots, and the Factions content.

I assume that's just the extended pre-order time working, and that in 3 days I will loose all the Factions stuff unless I apply the key that came with Factions. But before I add the Factions key, I want to make sure that's the case, and that I the pre-order alone doesn't give all the content (which would be wierd).

Pre-order gives you access to all content but only for a limited time (Head Start event only, limited amount of time, like you said).

You won't lose Factions releated content until ten days ("grace period") have passed (content will be disabled however) and you haven't entered a valid retail key.

I have a related question. My situation is the same as the OP's. So when I got my copy of Factions, I figure I'd put the key in so when the pre-order key dies I won't have a "downtime". I couldn't enter any keys though. I have the GW:P key and the GW:F Pre-order key in my account. I go to Manage Keys and it shows that I have access to those contents but it won't give me an option to put in another key. Are we just suppose to wait until Anet kills the pre-order keys before we can enter the actual Faction keys?

No, go to the login screen and before you login there is a link to add a key or create a new account.

I have a similar problem as the OP. I entered the Factions pre-order key and played in the 24 hour head start. Then when I picked up the full version, I took it home and did the installation thing. But when I wen to enter the access key that came with the full version, it didn't give me the option to do so. I checked the part where it sayd "Edit Account", then "Manage Access Keys". When I got there, there wasn't anywhere to enter the new key. I can still play my Assassin and tour Cantha with my Prophecies character. Am I missing something?

jade i also had this problem, but it was because i was using the password shortcut. If you log out of the charachter screen and select the option to "create account or add access key"(just below where you'd enter your password). Then you can enter your new number there. Hope this helps

Log out - on the login screen, under the box's for entering your username and password is an option "Create Account or Add Access Key". you need to select that and then ensure you select ":Add Access Key" option/section and input your Faction's CD-Key there. that will merge your Faction's CD-Key with your Prophecies account (If you select Create Account you'll have 2 seperate accounts).
