I;ve been trying to get to the luxon city to buy some armor but it seems that Anet has every damn zone blocked off. So i've done the stupid quests, which were mostly a royal pain in the rear, and am not back in kaening<sp> without having been to either capital?!
Can i run there from one of the other cities or am i forced to do the whole storyline?

Have you played through much of the main quest?
If not you evntually get a quest that will take you to one or the other.

All i want to do is get to luxon side and buy some damn armor. Why the hell did Anet make this a study in torture? I don't even want the 15k stuff just the 1.5 for crying out loud.
if chapter 3 is anything like 2 i wont be buying it.

1. Keep doing the missions and you'll end up there.
2. You can't get Luxon/Kurzick armor because the Faction reward trader is bugged and nobody can get the amber/jade needed.

Your not far enough ahead yet keep playing the main quest, the game will tell you when its time.

I was able to buy armor for my Necro.
It cost 1.5k eack plus bones, 3x Monstrous eye balls, 3x Monstrous claws,
and Monstrous fangs. I also got the new scar for the face that requires ink.
This is how I did it. Went to LA, took a boat to Cantha. Found a armor NPC.
And bought my new shit.

Ok here is some more info for people.
You do not need to choose a side to get the 1.5k armor.
You do have to turn in faction to the faction scavanger i guess for jadeite/amber but as stated they are broken and there is none.
The rare trader shows jadeite at times but says hes out when you ask for a quote.
TO get to the city, you just need to finish the basic storyline to get the quest to go to the major city of whatever faction you want to travel to.
This is all very irritating.

must admit it is ridiculously hard to get to the armour places especially since as i progressed fewer people were in these towns so relying on hench ( have they been made stupider, they are a total nightmare now) is a pain in the ass and makes for slow and tedious progress
Spiteful Nerd
lol....all you have to do is what I mention above.
No other bull shit needed.

well if you are talking about getting ahold of either Luxon or Kurzick armor.
forget about that shit. I haven't seen any NPC that allows you to chose
sides yet. you will have to wait until the release.

To get into the Luxon And kurzick Capitals you need to have done these missions where the 1.5k Armor crafter is
Vizunah Sqaure
Nahpui Quarter
Tahnnakai Temple
Arborstone
Boreas Seaboard
Sunjiang District
You can buy Canthan Armor in Kaineng City and other assorted Npcs spread around the world.Canthan Armor doesnt require Jade or Amber but they wont have the Luxon and Kurzick skins from what I can tell the Luxon and Kurzick 1.5k armor requires about 3-9 jade or amber per piece.

Quick question on this:
I recently bought 1.5k armour from whatever town that is north of Marketplace. The armour has the same skin as every armour I've had even though it is of a different type. I assume now that I need to join a side to make the armour I wanted.
I did buy the 1.5k Nightstalker armour, which was too expensive, and was hoping it would look like the old version did. Is there some small ray of hope that I don't have to buy 1.5k armour all over again to get the proper nightstalker skin?

- You do not need to join a faction side to craft 1.5k armor.
- You do need to do the storyline to get the quest(s) that take you to the capital of each city.
- Cantha has 3 different looking armor skins on the 3 different armor crafters that are near each other.
- All armor skins are now able to be bought with any stats on them you wish.
- There is an Exotic Armor crafter out in the wajiun bazaar that will give you an armor with a skin that was in early release of the game (like a more advanced version of the newbie chainmail for warriors). He is on the coast/docks in the middle
- Jadeite/Amber can only be bought with faction points and you need 3-9 pieces per armor part. How many faction points is unknown as the trader is broken, thus making Luxon/Kurzik armor unavailable.
- You must fully beat the game to make 15k armor and bring all components with you before you go to the merchant and you'll have to beat it again every time you want to go back.
