how to merge prophecies and factions?

i have buy a factions key but i now i have 2 logins in the same account in plaync.com. (i dont have added second key)

can i merge both keys?

Start up guild wars.

click the first option under the password screen. It says "Add keys, or create new account" or something like that.

Type in your email/password in the appropiate boxes. Hit Next.

Type in the key.

You get to a confirm screen, confirm that you want to add the key to your account, and you are set.

i have registered gwfactions and assigned to another different login in plaync.com

Thats because youve made 2 seperate accounts, once made they can not be joined. Arenanet warned of this many times. Sorry but you're stuck with 2 accounts now.

I would have thought the "Add key to exisiting account" on the login would be enough for most.

i still don't know how people do this by accident, its obvious how to do it right, and Anet have warned a billion times that it will not be reversable (e.g. no merging)

The problem isn't that the game or Arenet haven't made it clear: The problem is with the PlayNC site. Once you have purchased your key, it gives you an option to convert it directly into a login name and password, while mentioning nothing about accounts and account merging. The PlayNC site needs to be updated.

Yep hes right, you have to ADD the account not try and make a new one or else...DUH it will be in use, say add account to existing and you should be set

As darkMishkin clearly stated, this problem is related to the poor design of the PlayNC website. You have to first create a PlayNC master account to be able to purchase the serial code. This, of course, is different than your GW account. Next, after entering billing info, you get this prompt:



Obviously you can argue that someone should know not to make a second separate account (even though some people don't know you can't merge). The fact is that they might not know that is what they are doing.

The prompt gives you the key and immediately tells you to use it to make an account. It doesn't mention any warnings about merging accounts with an existing GW account. It can be a bit confusing because you have already made one account before which is different from the GW account (the PlayNC account). They might think that this is only an account within PlayNC to make the key valid. Or, perhaps, that they are being told to make this account and merge it with the original. The prompt should tell you to add this key to your existing account via the GW client OR create a new separate account.

Compare this with the other method of obtaining a key. If they had purchased a key from a retail box and tried to add the key from the GW logon screen, the process is quite intuitive. There is a clear separation between adding the factions key to the existing account and the creation of a new, separate account. see:



The problem lies in the PlayNC website telling you to make an account with your key without any warning of the problems this might cause. If you want to say that someone with this problem should have known better, fine. Is this helpful? No.

The PlayNC site needs to be made more clear to facilitate ease of use and to prevent this from happening to others.

That's nice of them. Will they be rethinking there site design too?

Another warning -- plaync will only let you buy 3 online game codes with one credit card. So if you have two GW Prophecies accounts, you have to choose which one you want to "upgrade" to factions. You can't upgrade them both. Yet.

I feel so rewarded. Since i bought both factions and prophecies i get six characters, but if i just buy factions i can do all the prophecies stuff anyway. So why do we lose 2 character slots AND a storage to merge the account wtf. I want to UN MERGE!

If you buy factions and open it on a separate account you cannot do the prophecies campaign
